Government Job and Eight More Pieces.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Being able to sleep at night without being constantly awaken by Pain, is something I could get used to doing. For the second night in a row I had more sleep than the previous week combined. Kathy slept a tad better, but would later tell me that I had been moaning throughout the night.

At work first thing this morning, I was assigned a “Government Job”, which for those unfamiliar with the term, is a personal project for someone, done along with your necessary work. The kicker was that it was for Mile’s Barbecue. I had to reshape a piece of reclaimed Stainless Steel, straightening, then bending the edges with a Hammer and Pliers. It was the perfect Height and Width, but it could not be finished because he forgot to measure the Length. Maybe tomorrow.

I also welded Lugs on Three Feedscrews so they could have the Keyways machined today and helped to bring in Eight pieces of material that will become Feedscrews in the future.

Traffic was terrible after work and the School Buses don’t start until next week. I still managed to get to Wyandotte Chiropractic Center on time for my appointment. Even though I used my Cane going in, I simply walked back to the Truck after Richard was finished getting me back into shape.

We waited until the 6 o’clock Local News was on, before sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Hawaiian Pizza for supper. They again focused on the damage in Florida caused by Hurricane Idalia.

So looking forward to the upcoming Long Weekend.

Better Sleep, Visiting Vera and Arthritic Reminder.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Taking the higher dose of Medications last night did such a great job of easing my Aches and Pains, I only woke a few times, while sleeping like most people do. Unfortunately, Kathy had gotten so used to me tossing and turning, that she kept checking to be certain that I was still breathing. Now she has to learn to sleep the way she should have all along.

Surprisingly I was busy most of the day doing touch-ups on Feedscrews being readied for shipment to the customers. I kind of chuckle because one Machinist would say to weld while the other said just blend. It kept me busy so I didn’t mind.

Kathy visited with our dear friend Vera this afternoon. Thinking she had just arrived, she was shocked when she saw the time and realized I’d be home soon.

When I got home, not seeing the Car in its spot did have me concerned, but before I reached the back of the building, Kathy was pulling in.

We enjoyed Veggie-Wraps for supper.

The 6 o’clock Local News talked about the severity of damage from Hurricane Idalia. The part of Florida that was hit is where we had many memorable moments, especially swimming with the Manatee. It is also home to many of our followers who had evacuated but I’m certain will have a problem going back home.

A special Thanks to Cactus Flower for reminding us that Kathy does have an Arthritic Support Glove. Once she put it on, the Pain in her hand started to ease.

Earlier Appointment, Inverter and Passed Out.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though I had another rough night due to Hip/Leg Pain, which also disturbs Kathy’s sleep, I was able to walk a bit easier this morning.

I’ve mentioned that we are presently in a slow period at work, so I spent the beginning of the shift helping the Inspector get things ready for shipping.

Because of our Doctor’s Appointment today, I was about to call Kathy at first break when I noticed a call from our Doctor’s Office. They asked that we come in early to discuss our test results. When I told Kathy I’d be picking her up earlier, she had no problem with it. When I asked Mile if he wanted me to come back or wait until morning, he agreed to the later since there was no welding for me to do.

After parking the Truck and I met Kathy at the rear door of the building with the Car. There was surprisingly lots of traffic at that time but we arrived at the Doctor’s Office shortly after 11:00. The Severe Storm we had the other night had knocked out their FAX Line, so some results were not available. He did upgrade our Prescriptions in an attempt to bring us some relief.

We drove over to Princess Auto where they had Portable Power Sources and Pure Sine Wave InvertersOn Sale”. Even though this sale had only started this morning, the Portable Power Sources had already been picked over. They would gladly give us a Rain Cheque, but did not know when they would be in. We ended up taking the Energizer 1500 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter that I can set up with a AGM Battery and Solar Panel. Having already set up Two Trailers with the plans for a Third, this will be an easy setup.

It was past 1:00 when we stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail. That took less than Two Minutes but we spent another Twenty Minutes for a slow moving Freight Train to go by.

It was nearly 1:30 when we walked into Pita Pit to have lunch. I’ve mentioned before that this is a Healthy Fast Food that contains the Protein and Vegetables that we both need. Another thing is on Tuesdays all their Pitas and Salads are “On Sale” for $7:00. We did not walk out hungry.

It was after 2:00 when we arrived at Health First Pharmacy to get our new Prescriptions filled. Danielle could not believe how bad Kathy’s Hand was swollen and cautioned her on the use of the Medications.

It was past 3:00 when we finally walked back into our Apartment. I was starting to feel nauseous and needed to lie down on the bed. At night I have been struggling to fall asleep, but today I practically Passed Out as soon as my head hit the pillow. It was nearly 5:30 before I woke up, feeling only slightly better.

Hopefully with the change in our Medications, we’ll both start feeling better in the next few days.

As Per Usual.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

As per usual, because we slept in later on Sunday morning, I spent most of the night tossing and turning. As per usual, when I have a restless night, it affects Kathy’s quality of sleep.

Since I have gotten all the welding jobs for the PTA and TIG repairs completed up to date at work, I spent most of the day helping to move some of the larger Feedscrews that are nearing completion and sweeping my area. As Rick the Company Driver/Janitor said, “You can only do so much sweeping”.

The difference today to many of the recent days, was that I was keeping busy and managed to work the entire shift.

Once in the Apartment, I again had a Snap while trying to talk with Kathy. When I woke, I immediately started making a Stir-Fry, which we used for Veggie-Wraps for supper. There are enough Leftovers for more Wraps throughout the week.

Watching the 6 o’clock Local News, we were surprised that a couple of the Storms that hit the Windsor area this weekend were actually EF1 Tornadoes. Luckily, there were no injuries as a result.

We are both looking forward to seeing our Family Doctor tomorrow, so that we can both get some relief from our issues.
