Damage From Severe Storms.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Since the Medications prescribed by the Windsor Pain Care Clinic might restrict my ability to Donate Blood, I used their Questionnaire’s own questions to determine how many Days before donating, I would have to stop. After making that Donation, I would then continue taking them until just before my next Donation. It was not a problem to sleep, it was keeping myself from tossing and turning the entire night. I think another reason was knowing the Alarm was set.

Another thing that tends to happen when we set the Alarm, is I wake up just before it goes off. That gives me the opportunity to shut it off, so Kathy is not startled awake by the sound, which would give her a Headache for the rest of the day. On the other hand, she does not like having to wake up early and lets me know it.

After our breakfast snack along with our morning Medications, a quick look at The Weather Network and Radar was all we had time for. It was not all good and all we could hope for was the Storm’s Path might change.

We were scheduled to see our Family Doctor. After last week's Holiday and Storms, he was really busy. Kathy’s biggest complaint is she feels tired most of the day. George noticed one of her Medications could be the cause and since she will be seeing her Cardiologist that prescribed it soon, he suggested she bring it up with him. After talking of how I feel, I will be getting more Tests to look forward to. And I thought I was in better shape than Kathy.

With my List in hand, we stopped at the Zehr’s grocery store where I was able to take advantage of some Sale Prices that were not listed last week.

The timing was perfect as we went to Wendy’s to have lunch. The young lady that took my order correctly for the first time last week remembered it for today. While we sat talking and enjoying our meal, we noticed that it seemed to be getting Dark outside.

Light Sprinkles were hitting the windows as we headed for home. After dropping Kathy at the front entrance, I carried the bag of groceries, without using our Folding Shopping Cart. As soon as I was inside, I needed to stop to switch arms carrying the load. Inside the Apartment, I put it on the Scale to find that it weighed almost Forty Pounds. After putting everything away, both my Shoulders were bothering me. Hopefully, I won’t have any problems sleeping tonight.

The “6 o’clock Local News” showed there was a lot of Storm Damage throughout the Windsor Essex County Area from the Strong Winds and Intense Rain that flooded lots of basements.

A short while after, our daughter Karen called to say that their basement had again Flooded, just like Ten Years ago. They had Back Flow Protection Valves installed, Two Sump Pumps along with a Battery Backup System, but the Pumps could not keep up to the Water coming in. All their Appliances and Furniture, Dry-Walling and Carpets will have to be replaced.

The first time Kathy and I were just going over for a visit but the entire Street had Two Feet of Water covering it. When we got back to the Golf and RV Park, lots of the roads and fairways were flooded because of the Water Hazards breaching their banks.

We later watched a few episodes about WWII being narrated by Tom Hanks on the History Channel.

Kathy has another appointment tomorrow.
