Kathy’s Flu Like Symptoms, and The Pink Is In.

While Kathy was at our Family Doctor yesterday she also received the newest Shingles Vaccine. By last evening she was starting to feel like she was coming down with something. When she looked it up on Google a Side Effect of the Vaccine is Flu Like Symptoms.

By this morning Kathy wasn’t feeling much better but soldiered on thinking she might at least accomplish something and she did. She set the Crock Pot to cook our supper on while I was busy taking things many of which will find their way into Next Spring’s Yard Sale out of the apartment and putting them in the Truck. Our lives have changed and after living in our RV for a few years we don’t need all that STUFF.

Lunch was a simple sandwich before we headed out the door. Even though Kathy wasn’t feeling top notch she figured that she could help me to finish winterizing the Trailer.

When we arrived at Guardian Storage we stopped to collect our Mail. Sometimes it’s like the carrier stocks it up before making a delivery. Next we stopped at our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to replace the items that won’t fit in our apartment. We then found a number of things we definitely need in the apartment and immediately filled the back seat area of the Truck with them.

I also collected our Planks that we would be using to park the Trailer on for the Winter Season to help prevent Tire Damage by keeping them out of the Surrounding Ice.

Kathy collected a few more things from the closet of the Trailer while I made certain all the Water had drained from the system. I had opened all the Low Point Valves along with removing the Plug from the Water Heater yesterday and had a steady stream flowing. Imagine how upset I was when I went to close the Valves this afternoon only to have an even bigger stream of Water start pouring out. I’ll be replacing those Valves next year so there will be no mistakes.

It took nearly an Hour for the draining to stop so Kathy had a Snap in the Truck while waiting. Once I had the RV Antifreeze coming out all our Faucets it didn’t take long to pull the Trailer ahead to place the Planks in line then with Kathy’s guidance the Trailer was parked for the season high and dry.

It was nearly 5:00 when we walked in the apartment and the aroma of our dinner greeted us at the door. Everything was delicious and there’s plenty left for a couple more meals.

I finished unloading the Truck after supper while Kathy did the Dishes. When I turned on my Computer this evening The Weather Network is forecasting below Freezing Temperatures at night for most of the week and even a day or two not being too much warmer. Glad we got the RV Antifreeze done today.

We are hoping Kathy is feeling better tomorrow and we can get the apartment better organized. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I hope you are nice and warm in your cozy apartment. Try to get some time to put your feet up and recoup. You have been so busy emotionally and physically. Take care of yourselves.

  2. Good timing on the the antifreeze. I don't believe in flu shots, often creates more of an issue.

  4. The shingles shot knocked both Jim and I on our butts but only for a day. The arm was sore for a lot longer and I'm not really looking forward to the second one. As cold as it is, I'm happy you're in your apartment. Hopefully you can now relax a bit.

    1. We recently got our 2nd dose, and were happy to find that it did not affect us anywhere near as bad as the first dose did - that first one knocked us on our butts, too!

  5. Isn't it nice to enter the apartment and smell the food cooking? Especially after finishing up the storage project. Hope Kathy is feeling better today.

  7. I'm confused...I thought you had given up your site...so is this where your RV will be parked all winter?

For some reason I thought it was going back to the factory to be fixed in the USA.
