Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
It was
pleasant listening to the rain tapping on the roof as we slept through the
night but this morning when we got up the continued rain and the wind that was
shaking the trees around us brought with it a cold dampness inside that
eventually forced us to turn on some heat.
With the
continuing rain and the almost winter like cold the decision was made to wait
until it cleared before resuming our outdoor project. Later while sitting at
the computers we received a phone call from the McGregor
Home Hardware telling us our food storage containers had arrived. Since
I also needed to exchange a masonry bit and Tapcon screws that I’d
purchased yesterday we’d certainly be going there this afternoon.
For lunch
Kathy made a wonderful salad that she topped with the leftover chicken that I grilled
on the Weber yesterday. Watching outside we also enjoyed the antics of the
birds that are presently making their nests. The way they get some of the
materials is hilarious and shows their commitment to getting the job done. We were
also amazed at where some of the nests were being built. We’ve had some built
in our Pinbox in the past. In the crook of the tree behind where we are
installing our shed that was only about seven feet from the ground. Today I watched
as a couple of robins that were making their nest on top of the waste outlet on
a trailer that is presently unoccupied.
Shortly after
eating we were on our way to the McGregor Home
Hardware store where I had no problem exchanging the remainder of
yesterday’s purchase and picking up Kathy’s food storage containers. Due to the
unseasonable weather after looking around if there were any other treasures we
might get we were on our way to Amherstburg.
Kathy wanted to try to get some household items that she knew Walmart carried and that was the closest
location. By the time we left there we had what she had set out to get and
more. Like the birds she likes to give her surroundings a personal appeal.
We stopped
at our son Kevin’s to drop off some containers that we’ve replaced from the
trailer and for me to borrow a builder’s square. When we arrived nobody was home
and everything was locked up so that errand will have to wait until the next
time we are in town.
Getting back
Home there was still a light rainfall
that caused us to turn the heat on again to get the chilly dampness out of the air.
With a dryer warmer day forecasted for tomorrow I’m looking forward to getting
things finished outside and better organized. Kathy is still fine tuning the
inside of our Home. Thanks for following along and feel free
to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Now full timers you really get to enjoy the weather. Just like we do. Hot, cold, rain, wind, no matter as long as it's snow snowing it's good.
