Still Adjusting.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Yesterday for the short time we sat at the computers I realized we had a problem with our automatic clock. It was produced around 2005 and would automatically change its time when it started or ended Daylight-Savings Time. Shortly after Daylight-Savings Time was lengthened by one month to end with the first Sunday in November. The clocks can’t be reprogrammed so when the time has to be change I do it manually. After hearing a noise in the hall early this morning and checking it out on my return to the bedroom I notice the time on the office clock. Then sitting on the edge of the bed I noted our bedroom clock was showing an hour earlier. I’d forgotten to reset the second clock but not wanting to disturb Kathy I simply planned on adjusting it in the morning. Waking a few hours later I found Kathy sitting there believing it was 8:00 in the morning but thought it must have been really cloudy out because the sun wasn’t peaking around the edges of the curtains. We’re both tired from having gotten up so early but the clock is now properly adjusted.
Getting up that early had a few advantages. We enjoyed our breakfast and finished our computer reading and were on our way out the door by 10:30 to run some errands. This meant that the two apartment showings would be done and over with before we got home.
The first place went to was our Accountants Office to have our Income Taxes done for us. Kathy always has everything well organized with all the receipts in a large manila envelope. Due to constantly changing deductibles that is the only reason Kathy doesn’t do them herself.
A quick stop at Guardian Storage netted us a handful of deliveries in our mailbox. This means people and companies are finally starting to pay attention that we are moving.
The Credit Union was our next stop to make adjustments to our accounts before the start of our Fulltiming Adventure. We will no longer be paying for services we won’t be using. With it being 11:00 on a Monday morning there was only a single teller on duty but as soon as she started making the changes we needed another teller as four impatient looking customers walked in.
Being parked in the same lot Kathy and I simply walked into Taco Bell to enjoy a tasty lunch. We had no sooner sat down to have lunch when it seemed an entire bunch of people started coming in for their early lunch.
It was too early to get back to the apartment so we drove to the far side of the lot to go to the Dollar Store. Kathy likes to be creative with things she does including wrapping special gifts and one way to do that inexpensively is by saving money at the Dollar Store. While there we ran into Christine and her grandmother Theresa who we last saw when we visited her in Fort Myers, Florida. It was a quick visit but we’ll have plenty of time to get caught up after we’ve moved.
It was nearly 1:00 when we headed back to the apartment and with the gusty winds I dropped Kathy off at the door. Once I’d parked the truck the wind nearly blew me over making the below freezing temperature feel even colder. When I went to check for stray mail downstairs Dan the Building Manager informed me the apartment was being rented however that’s not the first time we’ve heard that. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed.
Kathy needed a Snap after getting up so early this morning while I tended to a phone call straightening a discrepancy in another account. After that point Kathy started sewing the second panel for one of the light-blocking curtains we are making for the trailer. Using the magnifying goggles we bought at Princess Auto yesterday I had to unstitch a seam on another panel. It is amazing how fast you can do things when you can actually see what you are doing.
Kathy talked with our daughter Karen today and we’ve line up our grandson Tyler to help us do some moving in a couple of weeks. We might even see the temperature start to get back to near normal by next week. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Hopefully, it will be rented and you won't have a bunch of prospective renters viewing your apartment.
