Change Of Plans, Waste Of Time And Scary Moments

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

With the temperature dropping well below the freezing mark last night it was no wonder that we had no trouble whatsoever to sleep past 8:00 this morning. We were in “Hibernation Mode.” Even though the sun was shining by the time we opened the curtains the remains of last night’s flurries still remained on the windows of the cars in the parking lot. Even the wind had eased up to where the windows would only occasionally sound like someone’s teeth would if they were cold.
Along with our customary reading we sat discussing what would be the quickest way to move everything out of the apartment and in as short a time as possible. Kathy had a good idea but it would have actually taken longer to do and would have cost us. My plan is to have the existing couch in the trailer already in our Climate Controlled Storage Unit before bringing the trailer to the apartment building. At that point we could load our food stocks, clothes and our new Loveseat into the trailer. We would then bring the trailer out to Wildwood Golf and RV Park set it up on our site where we would begin our Fulltiming Adventure early.
After having lunch Kathy and I headed out to run a few errands. We also had heard of a Boat and RV Show that was taking place in town. When we arrived at the former Rona building center the parking lot was packed and because of the size of our truck they directed us to back up onto a grass curb. Needless to say the four-wheel drive came in handy not just for parking but for getting out. The entry fee was higher than we expected and it wasn’t until we got inside we found out it was a Home, Boat and RV Show. There were plenty of things there for anyone wanting to improve their homes but we weren’t interested in that. The few RV Trailers and vendors that were there didn’t have anything that appealed to us so this had been a waste of time.
We did have a little excitement when Kathy disappeared into the crowd. We’d become separated by people that got between us and Kathy had turned the corner looking at what vendors had to sell but not realizing that I wasn’t behind her. By the time I got around the crowd she was out of sight so I headed to the next group of trailers. When she couldn’t find me she tried calling my cell phone. When I couldn’t find Kathy I tried to call her but my cell phone that I’d charged just the other day was dead. It took us nearly a half hour before we finally found one another. I didn’t let go of her hand until we were back in the truck.
Since the roadway to the old Rona building center connected to the Walmart parking lot we did some more walking. We actually found some supplies that they didn’t have in stock the last couple of times we had been there.
We made one more stop at Princess Auto where I picked up a couple of Battery Power Switches at thirty percent off regular price. As we were about to leave the store we also found a set of Magnifying Googles that I had looked for less than a month ago. These cost less than twenty-five percent the cost one supplier had quoted me.
We didn't see this sign until we were leaving.
Back at the apartment Kathy managed to have supper ready to eat in less than five minutes because we had taken the time to cook multiple meals the other day. Tomorrow we have more errands to run while Dan has another Apartment Showing. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  3. We we to the show on Saturday. Nothing of interest for us there and not quite worth the admission, I think. As soon as our temps come out of the cellar you could start moving. When we were in Arizona we had freezing temps most nights and our heater kept us cozy. So if your camp ground lets you set up I cannot think of a reason why you couldn't move already.
