Tasty Baffling Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

With nothing important planned for early this morning we figured we’d sleep in. As a matter of fact Kathy was watching a movie that she thought would be finished by 11:30. Guess she read the guide incorrectly because it didn’t finish until nearly 12:30 in the morning. I forced myself not to get out of bed before 7:30 and Kathy needing more sleep than I do stayed in bed an hour longer. The Weather Channel was showing comfortable temperatures with clear sunny skies for the day.

Once breakfast was finished we headed to the computers and this time Kathy’s new computer woke as soon as she moved the mouse. After she finished her reading Kathy went to the kitchen and started some baking for our family Thanksgiving celebration tomorrow. She baked a wonderful Pumpkin Pie and Pecan tarts this morning but still has more baking that needs to wait until the morning.
Myself after my reading I made a phone call to General RV to get a progress report on what is happening on our trailer. John said the winterizing was complete but could not make out what some of the other notations on the file meant. So I’ll just have to call back on Monday to hear from the service chief first hand.
After making that call I started working on Kathy’s new and old laptops in an attempt to add programs. No matter what I did the new Windows 8 computer would not upload devices such as printers nor active programs such as Adobe Photoshop. I was successful at opening the picture files that were transferred from her old PC which I used to change the backdrop and set up a changing slide show for the screen saver. I was successful on all the tasks that I applied to the Windows Vista laptop even though it tried to block the printers it eventually worked for the better.

Having basically used my entire day working on the computers today I totally forgot a few chores that I had planned for the truck and car so I’ll be trying to take care of those tomorrow morning. For supper I fired up the Weber Q and grilled the last of the Hulka (Hungarian Sausage with rice inside) we had been given from our good friends Vera and Bill. Since it is already cooked and was frozen we only had to grill it before serving it on bread. Oh remember those Pecan Tarts Kathy baked this morning. They made a wonderful dessert.

We never left the apartment because I kept trying to make that computer work. Apparently there are no drivers for Windows 8 because the printers are now seven years old. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. That always seems to be an issue when we upgrade too. New computer then you need newer software and hardware, good luck.

  3. Many times you can download compatibility drivers for a newer model that might work for the older one. HP has a generic driver set, I missed if you stated what kind they were but if you want, contact me and I might be able to find what can work with Windows 8.
