Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.
Tyler arrived just after we posted the blog last night. So
in order to celebrate we all donned our swimsuits and headed downstairs for a
swim. Last year the pool was closed from the beginning of September to the end
of December while upgrades and modifications were made. Kathy and I only used
it once in May because of the problems I was experiencing from the hernia. It
felt great to be able to soak in a comfortably warm environment which helped alleviate
a lot of our aches and pains.
Back at the apartment after we all had our showers and got
into our sleepwear we added ice cream cones to the celebration. It wasn’t long
before Tyler’s eyes were closing on him so after covering him up Kathy and I watched
the local news while laying in our bed.
This morning we were up shortly after 8:00 and Kathy
immediately started cooking Ham and Eggs while I made the Coffee and Toast. She
figured we all needed a good breakfast to start our day but found out that
Tyler doesn’t eat heavy meals before he plays a hockey game. Tyler complained that the
couch in our living room that he has slept on whenever he sleeps over is
suddenly too short for him to get a good night’s sleep. (Maybe it’s shrinking?)
By 10:00 we were meeting Karen and Greg at the Tecumseh Arena.
We got to have our Sunday Night visit early today and they even brought coffees
from Tim Horton’s to help warm us up. Today was the first time in nearly two
years that we’ve had a chance to see Tyler skating and have to admit that he
has really come a long way. He was playing team forward but even though he had
nearly ten shots on the opposing team’s net he just couldn’t buy a goal today. The
other team had many more mature players to their advantage and slipped the
winning goal in seconds before the final buzzer.
After lunch Kathy and I went over to visit with Kathie and
Ross. Ross was unfortunately away on his Security job. We have also held back
from visiting Kathie because we believed she was having her knee replacement
done on September 19th but it is not happening until the 23rd
of this month. We still had an enjoyable visit before it was time for us to
come home.
Kathy took a Snap before we started a heavy duty cleaning of
the kitchen where we pulled the fridge and stove forward so we can make certain
there is no longer any dust leftover from last year’s construction work. After I
moved the stove Kathy cleaned the exhaust hood and took the filter off so she
could clean it but quickly put the filter back when three live Yellow Jackets
fell out. They were the only ones we dealt with today.
After a nice bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup for supper
it was time to relax for the rest of the day. Thanks for following along and
feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
