Cooling Temperatures and Getting Ready.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

After nights of unrestful sleep both Kathy and I slept like rocks last night only waking after 8:30 this morning. It must be the lack of sleep finally catches up with your body and then you really do crash. Watching the Weather Channel while we had breakfast this morning showed we would be having our last day of moderate temperature days before they dropped below normal for an indefinite period of time bringing with it a lot of rain for the area.

With that kind of news we barely finished breakfast before we headed out the door to touch up a few paint chips on the car. This was being done in order to prevent any body rust from occurring in the upcoming winter. Even though the thermometer may have shown that it was in the low 60’s but with the breeze that was coming from the north it barely felt above the freezing mark. Back inside the apartment we did our morning computer reading that we’d put off as a way of warming ourselves before we had our lunch.

Kathy has been very successful at using almost all the stock from our pantry and freezer to the point that we had to go grocery shopping today otherwise we’d have been in competition with Old Mother Hubbard. We were at the Zehr’s Grocery store for nearly two hours and even though the shopping cart was heavy when we left the store our wallets had to be restrained from floating away.

It took nearly a half hour to get everything put away but now we won’t have to worry about starving for a few weeks. In fact using the Weber Q I grilled a couple of nice Sirlion Steaks while Kathy made a couple on nice stuffed Portobello Mushrooms and roasted potatoes to go with them.

As we read many of the blog posts that we follow we are seeing more and more Snowbirds that are getting ready to head south for the winter or are already on their way. Kathy and I would like to wish all the members of the Bayfield Bunch Al, Kelly and Pheebs a safe and happy travels as they leave on the trip early tomorrow morning. Kathy loves your Earth Sky that you follow so much that we put it on our sidebar. Thanks Al.

In the meantime we keep doing things to get ourselves ready for when our departure date arrives. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
