Calling, Cooking and Shopping.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Even after having a Snap (short nap) when we returned home yesterday afternoon from our trip to the US and going to bed at the normal time we both slept like rocks last night. I woke just after 8:00 this morning and as per usual it only took Kathy minutes to wake after sensing the lack of my presence. Upon opening the living room curtains we were witness to the fact that the Weather Channel and all the local forecasters finally got it right and we received some rain while we slept.

As we enjoyed our breakfast we discussed things we needed to finish doing as well as other chores that always seem to pop up. The Weather Channel was again giving us a bleak picture for the next day but as we looked outside we watched the sun shining a welcome to another day for us to enjoy.

After completing our morning E-mail and blog reading. I made a phone call to General RV because after we got home last night Kathy noticed that John had written on the work order that we were having problems with the Propane heating of our Water Heater not the Electrical side that we had stated. Discussing a few of the other problems I made them aware of the fact that after working nearly 40 years in the trades I knew what I was talking about. I then returned to cleaning up the file that I've been working on for Kathy to make her job of future travels easier. I would eventually complete the task by mid-afternoon after a week of on and off picking at it.

Kathy had chosen to make this a cooking and baking day but shortly after noon needed my help to lift a few of the heavier pots. We had a late lunch and then by the time we finished cleaning all the dishes that had suddenly appeared it was nearly 1:30. For a rest we went to the computers where Kathy brought out slices of her fresh baked apple pie for a dessert that literally melted in your mouth.

Needing a few supplies and some exercise we went to Walmart getting in an hour of serious walking before picking up a Spiral Glazed Ham to take home with us for future meals.

For tonight’s supper we enjoyed the delicious spare ribs that Kathy made this morning and finished them off with a wonderful glaze before serving them. She accompanied it with a great tasting Taco Salad that we have really come to appreciate. Just after we finished cleaning the supper dishes our Daughter Karen called to see if we'd mind if Tyler could spend the night. Even at twelve years old being home alone in a big empty house can be a bit unnerving.

I called Ernie and talked for awhile this evening. His condition seems to be stable at this time though he has improved somewhat since his condition was first diagnosed. I was surprised when he told me that he and Cheryl had sold their RV because they can't use it right now but if things improve they might look at buying another in the future. Kathy and I are still keeping him in our prayers.

The clouds started to fill the sky as sun was getting ready to set so just maybe the forecasters might get another prediction right. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

Krackers

Dad: "Son, today I fought off the powers of darkness."

Son: "How did you do that?"

Dad: "I paid the electric bill."
