Saving Money by Buying Things.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Again we slept like logs last night but there was a big difference we didn’t have the AC on nor did we have the windows open. The outside temperature was in the mid-40s when we got up and the Weather Channel was predicting clear sunny skies with temperatures only reaching the mid-60s this afternoon. By the time we finished breakfast and I went to get dressed I had killed three more Yellow Jackets in our bedroom with no signs of where they are coming in.

Using my PC while Kathy used my laptop we managed to get our E-mail and Blog reading done with no problem. Kathy then went to read in the other room while using both the computers I managed to get caught up on some of my data entries before I went to get the mail. While I was downstairs I spoke to Lynn about this morning’s pests as well as the ones we had found on Sunday. Again she has assured me that the Boardwalk Corporation has rented a long reach man lift for the Exterminator to use to get rid of these Yellow Jackets.

After lunch I made a few phone calls to take care of a few things we need before leaving at the end of December. We then went back to Shoppers Drug Mart this time Kathy had her list of toiletries that we’d need for our trip south. Most everything that was on the list was again on sale but we also saved money another way. If you remember last week we saved quite a bit when we bought vitamins on sale but we also acquired Optimum Points that we could later cash in. Well today was the day! We spent $152.00 and saved $62.00 in the process.

Since the afternoon was still young we headed to Walmart to get some exercise and to get a few groceries we were in need of. Kathy is always surprised when we go places and suddenly somebody that I worked with shows up and starts talking and today was no exception. Tony and his wife have retired in the last two years and are still living in a big family sized home but are considering selling so they can travel. Kathy and I both told him the advantages of getting rid of our home and how it freed us to be able to travel which is something they have been pondering.

Back at the apartment it didn’t take long to put things away and before we knew it was time that I grill a couple of hamburgers on the Weber Q. Kathy made a wonderful Greek Salad to go with it to make a very satisfying meal. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I use to tell my kids that the quickest way to the poor house was buying lots of stuff on sale:)
