It’s Gone.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

I’m not sure why it happened but it did. I slept soundly until nearly 6:00 this morning and after that I was tossing and turning until I finally got out of bed shortly after 7:30. I hadn’t even set the alarm nor was it a travel day. Of course within minutes Kathy was awake and following me into the kitchen. The Weather Channel for the last few days including today had predicted heavy rains throughout the day and as we listened to a repeat of the forecast we prayed that it would be the same as the last few days. No Rain.
As soon as breakfast was completed we were out the door and on our way to Guardian Storage to pick up the trailer. Making certain everything was secured inside and out we were hooked up and pulling out before 9:00 and headed for the Ambassador Bridge. Today was our scheduled day to bring the trailer back to General RV to get not only Warranty and Maintenance work done on the trailer but to get the repairs from the blowout and Oops taken care of.
The Immigration’s inspection took just over twenty minutes and the inspector was more interested in a trailer for his growing family than anything else. Always glad to share our experiences.
Of course the GPS decided we should take a different highway which also happened to be the roads that were experiencing lots of construction and repaving. We still managed to arrive nearly a half hour early but there was another problem. A lot of people just decided that today was a good day to bring their RVs in for servicing. After we pulled into the parking lot it only took minutes for the Service Manager to lead me to the back lot to drop off the trailer as they were scared of an overfilled lot spilling out onto a very busy roadway.
Kathy had been busy with John the service advisor listing all the things we had on our list of things to get the trailer back in shape. We even spent time talking with Bill Brown the Site Manager talking of future changes that General RV has planned for the site and things both our families had been going through since last year.
Leaving there without the trailer we stopped down the road at Bob Evan’s where we both enjoyed a three course steak dinner for only $10.99. Kathy had a wonderful salad while I enjoyed a tasty vegetable beef soup for starters. The steak was delicious and tender with real mashed potatoes followed by a delicious serving of Pumpkin pie. We were well satisfied but not overly stuffed when we left.
The return trip home was worse than the trip out this morning as the GPS would only repeat that it was recalculating until we were nearly at the bridge. At that point the GPS wanted us to exit the freeway and return north. I see a big change happening soon. At the bridge we took advantage of fueling at the Duty Free saving quite a bit off the cost we would pay for fuel in Canada.
The crossing and customs inspection took less than ten minutes and fifteen minutes later we were home before 3:00. We both had headaches that we suspected were from lack of sleep so we Snapped in our recliners for nearly an hour. When we woke neither of us had a headache and felt refreshed.
We had fillet of fish at McDonalds for supper and got more game pieces. Now we just have to wait for General RV to work their magic so we can bring our trailer back home so we can get ready to hit the road. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
