Cold Cooking, Movie Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Shortly after posting our blog last night we received a call from our grandson Tyler that he had just arrived home from a friend’s and wasn’t comfortable being home alone after dark. So granddad went to rescue him at his house within minutes. There was some consoling Sanford though before we left as he was disappointed that I didn’t want to play ball in the dark. After a snack at the apartment Tyler succumbed to the comfort of the living room loveseat.

It was past 10:00 when our daughter Karen (AKA Mom) called to say they’d come to pick him up but I said he was already sleeping and I had told him to bring a change of clothes so he could sleep over. Karen said Greg would pick him up in the morning then. Tyler was just finishing his breakfast this morning when the phone rang to say that his dad was on the way. We again told him anytime he was uncomfortable about being home alone and we were home that he is always welcome.

Kathy slept like a log last night after a tiring night before. Myself I was up and down most of the night checking to be certain that Tyler was sleeping comfortably and everything was okay. After he had left Kathy and I worked together to cut up some Corned Beef and Cabbage putting it to slow cook in the Crock Pot before spending the rest of the morning answering E-mails and reading Blogs.

After lunch we headed to the Devonshire Mall to walk around away from the rain and cold winds. The outside temperature only made the mid 40’s so it was no surprise that nearly everyone else in the region must have had the same idea because the Mall was packed. We spent over an hour walking around until we spied that the movie theater was open. We stopped at the food court for a coffee and donut before heading back to the Cineplex.

The movie we saw was with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney titled Gravity. Using one of the last of our Movie Gift Cards we had to pay a whole ninety cents out of pocket for this afternoon movie. With exploration of space becoming more of a reality today this movie deals with the very real possibility of what could happen if something up there went terribly wrong. There are many scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat and even though it was in 3D it was not overly done to the point of making you sea sick or throwing your back out like some of the animated features would do. Kathy and I both gave it two thumbs up.

Back at the apartment supper was ready to serve the moment we walked in. We ate comfortably as it helped to warm us up and are happy that we have a few more meals left over. After washing the dishes we watched the local news showing that we could be seeing s@#w showers latter this week with lower temperatures. As someone commented yesterday that was why they were getting out of Dodge. So a message to them and others leaving this week, Be Safe and Enjoy!

Moments before the sun began to set the sun made a brief appearance this evening. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I liked the 3D Gravity movie too. That's nice that your grandson feels comfortable enough with you to call you like that. How old is he?
