Changing Thoughts.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

We both managed to sleep soundly last night, probably in part due to the lack of it the night before. Another thing that happened was we slept so well it was after 8:00 this morning before we got up. I was still putting breakfast together when Kathy came out to join me.

The Sun made a brief appearance before the Clouds filled the sky. For some reason this kind of weather and my inconsistent recovery, seem to be taking our wanderlust for even stepping outside.

One thing my Re-Retirement has given me is time to experiment. When it came to anything Metallic, Mechanical or Electrical I have always been confident with my abilities. When it came to cooking however, I am trying to expand my culinary skills. After seeing a few things quickly flashed on the television, without any further instructions I tried to make it happen for supper. It came out tasty and satisfying but I still have more experimenting to do.

At one time, Canada’s Health Care was the envy of the world, and it was all covered by our Taxes. Bit by bit, it has been turned into a Business, with staffing cuts, and getting patients out the door as soon as possible, things are missed and ignore at the cost of the patients themselves. That does not just affect those who are sick, but their families as well. Health Care is not Business and should not be run as such. Presently they look at the cost of treatment and sometimes hold your age against us. If we were all Millionaires, we’d give it all up to save our loved ones, but the system doesn’t work that way. I recall the morning where the Department Head was considering having my wife moved to a Nursing Home because they needed the Bed. Security heard me screaming at her near the elevators. She had not even consulted the Doctors. My wife passed that afternoon. Now in a different family they are experiencing the same kind of inconsiderate treatment and it’s not right. Prayers sometimes create miracles, and the Bayfield Bunch is looking for one right now.

We watched a number of Hallmark Christmas Movies today.

  1. We all know how great your health care system was. So sad to see it go downhill. I agree ... it seems it's just a business to them now.
