After
the PTA
did
its usual devil may care job yesterday instead of following the
Numerical
Directions
on the Spreadsheet,
I wasn’t about to have a repeat today. We did everything possible
to
prevent that,
including
going
one step further. I found that by taping a Pencil
to the Torch,
I could run a weld test without the Arc
to fine tune the Positioner
Speed.
The end result was a weld that looked the way it was supposed to.
Since we were using the Number 83 Hard-Surfacing Powder it caused another problem. It tends to cause the Orifice to constantly plug. Stopping the weld, to clean things up on the Torch was needed at least Ten Times, but that was a big improvement from yesterday.
The only other problem was my Leg started to give out on me at the end of the shift. Since we are seeing our Family Doctor tomorrow, maybe he can shed some light on the subject.
