After posting last night’s Blog I started reading other Blogs we follow and kind of lost track of the time. It only took a hard yawn before I looked at the Clock and realized I was messing up my sleep schedule. The only good thing was I never woke until after 8:00 this morning.
Opening the Balcony Blinds the Sun immediately brightened the entire room. Before I had everything ready for breakfast Kathy was joining me.
Since we don’t like to waste Food because it would be the same as throwing our money away. We cleaned up the Leftover Rhubarb Sauce that we spread over Toast. It was just enough to be satisfying.
Coffee and Tea were again drank while sitting at the Computers while trying to get caught up on what is or will be happening all around us. Since yesterday we were able to get a Ninety Day Supply of our Medications for the first time since the start of the Coronavirus Shutdown I checked the supply of Vitamins that we had on hand. There would have been enough for only A Week’s Worth of setting up the Doucettes so I made a List.
For lunch we again cleaned up a Caesar’s Salad getting rid of some leaves that were starting to brown. To build it back up I cut a slice off a small Ham we had in the fridge then warmed it slightly in the Microwave. After cubing it was added to the Salad then topped off with Shredded Cheese. Kathy reshaped the Chocolate Cake that crumbled to pieces yesterday then topped it off with a Light Icing. Both the Salad and the Cake tasted wonderful and gave us energy to burn.

We headed out the door with the List of Vitamins that I needed to pick up. Since there is a Shoppers Drug Mart only a few blocks away we try to patronize it if they are open and if they have what we need. Well today they were finally open with a Security Guard at the door encouraging you to use Hand Sanitizer and thanking us for wearing our Masks.
Kathy went looking at different things to get exercise walking while I slowly collected everything on my List. Surprisingly they were fully stocked with Vitamins today unlike the bare shelves they had the last couple of times we stopped in. They also had the majority of the Vitamins we needed “On Sale” as well as if you bought Two you would get additional Points that can be redeemed at a later date. When we travel South that is how I normally build our stock of Vitamins so we never have to worry about finding them while away.

Back in the Car we were surprised how quickly that went and didn’t cherish the thought of just heading back to the Apartment. Instead we went another block away to the Dollarama that is actually the closest one to where we live. It has been nearly a month since we were in that store and we were in for a shock. Wearing our Masks when we went inside we saw lots of their shelves that were either empty or rather sparse. Like someone commented the other day it is hard to walk out of there without buying something.
It still wasn’t even 2:00 and we weren’t ready to go back home we we decided to go to another Dollarama. This time there was a Social Distancing Line outside but we were inside in Five Minutes. The few things we didn’t find at the other outlet we found at this one.
We were finally heading for home but I decided to take a different route along the Detroit River. We often see Ducks and Geese but when we got near Rose Beach Park we saw Swans. We found a spot on the side street to park the Car. After crossing busy Riverside Drive we stood and watched as they seemed to be feeding off the vegetation. As we stood quietly watching them some distance from shore it seemed that they soon got to within Fifty Feet and were watching us.
We finally headed for home passing another field where there were suddenly Hundreds of Canadian Geese along the water’s edge but there was no place to park. It was after 4:00 when we got back in our Apartment still talking about the Swans.
We waited until nearly 5:30 before making supper. We used the Leftover Spaghetti Sauce on Spaghettini sprinkled with Shredded Cheese. We also had a small dessert plate to satisfy our appetites.
Watching the 6 o’clock Local News while drinking our Tea. The Provincial Government has finally allowed the Small Businesses in Windsor to reopen even though the number of Coronaviruses Cases is still on the rise among the Migrant Farm Workers. Unfortunately places like Leamington and Kingsville are not allowed to open yet. They interviewed many Small Business Owners who were happy to try to save their Businesses but there were a number of them that were forced to permanently close.
Swans feeding.
We did up the Dishes and cleaned the Kitchen after the News was over.
Back in front of the Television we watched a US special about the Coronavirus. The Scientist and Doctors were pleading with the viewers to listen to the Medical Professionals and not the Politicians. The areas that have gone back to business as usual have seen dramatic spikes in Cases because people are not following the guidelines. They are saying by wearing Masks you are protecting others around you and if everyone does that it will stop the spread. Another way is to continue Social Distancing. We changed the channel to find different Doctors saying the same thing.

I was amazed to see the number of Deaths in the US from the Coronavirus was nearly 125,000 people and growing. If the Countries don’t get this under control anytime soon there won’t be any Snowbirds allowed to cross the International Borders this coming Winter. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. Another busy day for you both, where do you all get the energy?

I do not like to throw out food either so I try to use all I have in the refrigerator before it goes bad.

  2. I think its most of the older generation that eats left over food.
The younger generation does not think of eating left over food.

  3. It's interesting to note that several governors have admitted they padded the number of reported C19 deaths, some even as much as 25% by including ALL deaths. I hope it clears up enough for border crossing and for you to get your rig fixed.

  4. What a wonderful surprise to see those swans. I"m sure you could have watched them for hours. Too bad there weren't any benches nearby. As to crossing the border for the winter, I am beginning to wonder if if will be open based on the current situation.
