Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

Even though it had cooled down from yesterday’s high temperature by nearly Thirty Degrees before we went to bed with the continued threat of more Severe Thunderstorms overnight Kathy asked that we leave the Air Conditioner on. She slept like a rock unlike myself who kept tossing and turning throughout the night.
What we woke to this morning.
I was sitting at my Computer by 7:30 and had barely checked The Weather Network when Kathy joined me. Looking outside it looked like we were about to have a Winter Storm. We still enjoyed our Muffins before taking our Coffee/Tea back to our comfortable chairs.

It was barely past 9:00 when Tina from Hearing Life was calling to see how Kathy’s Hearing Aids were working. Kathy mentioned a lack of drying supplies so we had someplace to be this afternoon.

Ten Minutes later the receptionist from Clear Imaging was calling to confirm my appointment for Monday morning.
That Twenty by Thirty Flag stayed steady most of the day.
I had heard that some of the Service Ontario Offices were open so for the next Hour I made several attempts to call but kept getting a busy signal. Thought I never spoke to anyone my conclusion was that if the line was busy someone had to be using it so they must be open. When I went On-Line I found hours that the Service Ontario Offices were open so we made plans to go after lunch.
We busied ourselves by getting our chores finished early and we even set about trying a Campbell’s Steak and Potato Soup that was so thick it was like a Stew. Then we added our mixed dessert plate to finish off our meal. Before leaving we made certain the dishes and kitchen were nicely cleaned.
We arrived at the East End Service Ontario Office at 1:05 only to find the doors locked with a sign saying they were open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The other Offices had different hours listed but since these Offices are actually independently operated they can set their own Hours.
We drove to Hearing Life in Tecumseh where Kathy spoke with Tina before walking out with her drying supplies. If someone had explained the importance of drying her Hearing Aids before she might not have had the problems with her first set.
Next we stopped at Dollarama where there were about Ten People in line Social Distancing outside waiting to get in. By the time we got out of the Car and in line another Six People had gotten in line ahead of us. It only took about Ten Minutes before we were inside. I’ve mentioned how we can buy a lot of the same Food Stocks here that cost nearly half the price they do at the grocery stores. We left having saved quite a bit of cash.

Since there were a few things that could not be left in a warm Car and the fact that we’ll be out again tomorrow we headed back to the Apartment.
Our high for the day.
It was just past 4:00 by the time we had everything put away so we watched a movie to help us relax. We then watched the 6 o’clock Local News and were surprised to see the damage from yesterday’s severe storms that happened in Windsor. Elsewhere just outside of London Ontario there were reports of Tornadoes. Luckily there were no injuries reported.
Around 7:00 we made Grilled Cheese and Bacon Sandwiches garnished with Olives then topped off with our dessert plates.

We watched the movie “Must Love Dogs” which we could mostly relate to after the loss of our late spouses even though the characters depicted were divorced. We topped our evening off with an episode of NCIS.

Tomorrow we’ll get an earlier start to our day. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. I've had the same problem. You call but no one answers. You go online and the info is never correct. It's throwing the dice every time I head to town.

  2. I really like Campbell's Steak and Potato soup. I do a lot of my grocery buying at Dollar Tree for the same reason you shop at Dollarama.

Excuse my ignorance but what services does Service Ontario Office provide? What would be its equivalent in the USA?

  4. I never heard about drying hearing aids. Don't know why. Good that you found a place to buy some things at a better price. I will have to look up that movie, thanks for sharing.
