When
we saw the forecast that said we’d be having a mostly Sunny Day
with highs in the Mid-Forties for today we couldn’t wait.
There was only one little problem someone forgot to tell the Clouds
to take the day off. We’d barely finished eating breakfast when
the room dimmed but since we’ve had so many of these days lately we
knew what it was.
We
did the usual Computer reading while drinking our Coffee/Tea
then making plans of what we would do with the rest of the day.
We had an early lunch of Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Dill
Pickle garnishings along with a Half Apple and Yogurt
Cup for dessert.
Kathy
had made plans to continue the Grout Cleaning but put that on
hold when I showed her the List of places I was heading
for. As soon as the Dishes were cleaned up we were both out
the door.
Since
there’s a stretch of Cold Weather coming our way we took the
Truck so that we could top off the Fuel to avoid
moisture in the Diesel.
Our
first stop was Canadian Tire. For
the longest time we’ve talked about investing in a Food Saver
Vacuum Sealer but at the time the
prices were higher and we were in our Trailer. After hearing
nothing but praises from many of our friends how their machines have
cut back on lost food to Freezer Burn we decided it was time.
The fact that there were Four different models that were all
“On Sale” also helped in the timing.
We
then drove over to Princess Auto
just to look around but I saw that they had the Nitril Disposable
Gloves “On Sale” in their Sale Brochure. It
wasn’t until we got to the Checkout that I noticed the
Sale only started on Tuesday. That was fine the Cashier
rang it through at the Sale Price.
As
we were leaving the Truck started its Regen process and
we needed to give it a bit of a drive so it could clean the Diesel
Particulate Filter. We drove down Lauzon
Parkway to County Road 42
before turning North on Walker Road.
When we finally reached Foster Avenue
we headed through the Industrial Park before going up Rhodes
Drive. We were nearly at our
destination but the Regen had not finished so we continued up
Jefferson Avenue until we reached
the Tim Horton’s. When I shut
the Truck I could only hope that we’d run it long enough.
Another
couple seemed to be having difficulty walking from their vehicle
heading for the door so I held the outside door open for them and
Kathy held the inside one open. It put a smile on their faces so they
insisted we go before them. We each had a Coffee and a Boston
Cream Donut as a snack.
Our
next stop was Guardian Storage and
our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We had a brief List
of things that we were specifically looking for. We were there for
over an Hour going through Boxes and Storage Bins.
We managed to find everything but the Workbench we were
looking for when I came to the realization that it was not in the
Storage Unit but in our Garden Shed at our son’s home
in Amherstburg. Guess what I’ll
be getting on our next visit.
Finally
leaving the Storage Yard we
stopped at Pioneer gas station
and topped up the Fuel Tank at a $1.189 a Liter it
didn’t take long to add up.
It
was past 4:30 and not having any coupons with us we just stopped at
Taco Bell for our supper. We like
the fact that we don’t feel stuffed eating there.
We
drove over to Zehr’s grocery
store where we needed to get some Tea Bags and Cookies
for snacks. When we went to the Cashier it didn’t matter how many
times she scanned the Bar-Code or manually entered the number
the Price kept showing up as a Negative. Being she was
one of the Head Cashiers we were told it was an early
Christmas Gift.
We
had missed the 6 o’clock Local News by the time we got
everything upstairs so we just watched a couple of Hallmark
Christmas Movies for the evening.
Kathy
has an appointment in the morning so we have the Alarm
set. Oh Joy! We’ll let you know how that turns out tomorrow. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.

I'll never forget the first time I drove through Canada and needed fuel. I thought .... WOW ... it's so CHEAP! That's when I learned about liters. It's fun to think we are probably watching the same Hallmark Christmas movies!!
ReplyDeleteGotta love the Hallmark Channel :) What a run around day..I'm tired just reading it haha.
ReplyDeleteAll this talk of Hallmark Movies I think we will put a Christmas movie in tonight...lol
ReplyDeleteAnother busy day for you two; sounds like you got a lot accomplished though. Stay warm.
A day of shopping and savings. Always a good combination. Hope Kathy has a good visit at the doctor.
ReplyDeleteHallmark Christmas Movies.... am I the only woman in the world that does not watch them!
ReplyDeleteThe food saver can also being used to reseal original packaging without using the expensive plastic rolls. No more stale crackers etc. Kathy have fun experimenting with the machine.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you didn't get a negative price scan on your trailer like you did with those tea bags! ;cD
