Getting Ready, Big Increase and First Merry Thanksmas Celebration.

Our Location today is at Wildwood Golf and RV Park, McGregor, Ontario.

It felt good to sleep in just a little later than normal yesterday morning but as mentioned in last night’s brief note we had been busy all day in preparation for our Family Merry Thanksmas Celebration.
Our high was only 52 F (11 C) today.
We spent most of the morning getting mostly caught up on all our Blogger Friends. Then we had to start getting ourselves ready. I had to pack up our CPAP Machines for our afternoon appointment at the Windsor Sleep Disorder Clinic. With that done we enjoyed a nice warm bowl of Split Pea with Ham Soup for lunch along with a Yogurt Cup for dessert. This is something I truly miss while being at work.

Part of our contribution to our Family Celebration was to make what many refer to as Ambrosia but when we started gathering all the Ingredients we found out that we were short a few things. A quick trip to the Essex No-Frills put us back on track. We worked together and were soon packing up our cooler.

The next thing was to load all the Merry Thanksmas Gifts in the Car and cover them over. The reason for that was we had an appointment and didn’t want to entice those of lower standards. By using the adage “Out of sight, Out of mind” as a guide we felt more secure.
We were on our way tho Windsor by 3:00 and with minutes to spare when we arrived at the Sleep Disorder Clinic. Bring the CPAP Machines in we were told that wasn’t necessary because these new machines have built in Cellular Units that transmit how we slept to the Clinic every day. When we travel to the southwest they will connect to a nearby Cell Tower to keep our information flowing.

Even before we had our Sleep-Overs in July they had raised Kathy’s CPAP Machine setting by One because she said she wasn’t getting enough air. She has felt much better since they did that. I didn’t want to sound like a Parrot so I said I was feeling more tired then when I went to sleep. Having been issued a Loaner Machine for a month that would monitor my sleep habits and send daily reports I was shocked at the results. They had to raise the old setting by Forty-Five Percent which is a big increase.

We took the E. C. Rowe Expressway to our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. We were the first to arrive and even though she had finished all the decorations and cooking we were able to lend a hand on a few things like mashing the Potatoes along with carving the Turkey.

Everyone had their fill of all the tasty dishes most eating more then we should have. Then as the main dishes were put away out came the desserts. Many of us including myself knew that we had over indulged.

Then we brought in all the Gift Bags which is our reason for Merry Thanksmas combining Thanksgiving and Christmas together before we head south. The first to look for their Gifts was Sanford and after a brief sniffing of all the Bags stood with his nose looking down in the right One. Everyone enjoyed the opening of their Gifts as a Family normally does. There were a lot of surprises as well as “I was just thinking about getting that” said. After helping to clean up then Hugs and Thank Yous it was time for everyone to say Good Night and head for Home.
Kathy and I had another stop to make first. After getting the Mail at our box at Guardian Storage we went back to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit. We were there to collect the Gift Bags for the next Merry Thanksmas that will take place this weekend. If we had gathered them all the other day it would have been impossible to move inside our trailer. It was easier then I thought and we were only there Twenty Minutes.

At Home we brought everything inside before trying to rest but the Blue Flame Heater as well as the Kitchen Stove would not turn on. One Propane Tank was empty while the connection to the Second Tank was loose which meant it would not switch over. Once that was fixed we could warm ourselves before going to bed.
After editing nearly a Hundred Pictures and the effects of the big meal we could barely keep our eyes open. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I well remember a few times when as full-timers that we ran out of propane. Never fails.... it would be late. No place to refill. It would be cold. Electric heaters saved the day (night).

What a great time you are having with family. Sweet!

  2. It looks like everyone enjoyed their gifts. Last night I was so tired I could not keep my eyes open so decided to go to sleep instead of making a post and glad I did.
