Kathy’s Nightmare, Alterations At Work. Kathy Doing Errands and Chinese Buffet.

When I got up this morning Kathy was already in the other room but she wasn’t herself. She’d had a Nightmare that was so realistic that it scared her into thinking that everything we had accomplished yesterday was false. It took a while to convince her the Dream was false before she would go back to bed. A Specialist had put her on Prednisone which is a helpful medication but one of its Side-Effects is having Hallucinations and Bad Dreams.

It felt strange taking the Car to Work this morning but it was the only way we could accomplish what was needed. As soon as I could I started adding finishing touches to the Truck Bodies in order to get them delivered to the Customer. We found a few changes that the Owner had made to the design that required us to make other changes in the name of Safety.

The Owner has finally taken a Two Week Vacation the first in Three Years. His family is flying to Las Vegas then they plan to explore the area before ending down in Phoenix to attend the Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival.

The Supervisor and Engineer left in charge tried to sound exactly like him but this time if you presented the need to change things they were more inclined to listen. What I didn’t expect was that since I had mounted the Wood Chipper Body they now expected me to install these as well. What none of us expected were a number of the Changes the Owner had made had to be adjusted to make it happen. The Supervisor finally relented that my helpers and myself knew what we were talking about.

Just before noon I suggested moving the vehicle inside because I could smell Rain in the air. The rest of my crew were all Smokers so they couldn’t smell it. By the time lunch was over the Rain was coming down fairly steady.

I spoke with Kathy at noon and the Truck had taken nearly Three Hours to service at Windsor Gas and Diesel. Because it is a small operation like where I work they don’t stand around waiting for the Coolant to drain. They got it started and move to another job until it finished draining. They are also very popular for not trying to sell you a service that is not needed so they are always busy. Jim allowed her to sit in the Office reading her book while he did his work.

When Kathy left there she dropped my Prescription for my new CPAP Machine off at Vital-Air and made the appointment for when I’ll pick it up. Then she went to Guardian Storage to pick up the Mail which led to having to go to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to add to its contents. She finally ended up at the Motor City Community Credit Union to get Laundry Money (Coins) as well as doing other banking.

The first Truck was out the door by 3:00 to the Customer but with additional problems on the Second Unit I worked until 5:00 so it will be ready to mount in the morning.

Before I left the parking lot I called Kathy to ask if she’d like Chinese Food for supper. She hadn’t eaten much today so was more then willing to do so. After a quick change of clothes we were soon on our way to A-1 Chinese in Essex. Even though there was a Fund Raiser going on their quality never faltered. This is a buffet but we both ate sensibly and did not overeat. I stuck to mostly Vegetables and Chicken Dishes.

After taking our showers it wasn’t long before Kathy went to bed to catch up on her lost sleep from last night. She was actually falling asleep at her Computer. Tomorrow we hope to get things cleaned up at Home and at Work. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
