Another Failed Update, Action Movie and Family Visit.

Even with the best laid plans you can’t always win. Getting out of bed by 7:30 it didn’t take me long to see the Sun was already shining on the Picnic Table. When I checked The Weather Network the Humidex was already at 97 F (36 C) and climbing. That’s when I finished getting things ready for breakfast. As if sensing what I was doing that was when Kathy came downstairs to start her day.
Peter Cottontail heading for the shade of our Trailer.
We brought our Coffee/Tea over to the Computers in order to get all our reading completed. I even managed to send off a message to our friends Wayne and Sue in Washington State. When we set up camp in Quartzsite they have been our neighbours for the last two winters and we are looking forward to seeing them again this fall.

By 11:00 we had all our indoor chores completed but the outdoor Humidex had already reached 106 F (41 C) with no breeze. “You know it’s hot out when there are very few Golfers on the Links.

For lunch Kathy made a wonderful Caesars Salad along with Chicken Strips and Mandarin Orange Fruit Cups for dessert.

For the last two years we have been having issues with our Rand McNally GPSs. We have Lifetime Updates on both but each time that they have been updated as soon as they are turned on a message appears saying that it’s been over a year since their last update. Thinking that was just a Message Error we headed out on the road only to find out that the GPSs were far from accurate.

Since our internet we use at the Park is running so well and the Heat was keeping us captives inside I thought that I would try updating them again. Since I’ve downloaded the Rand McNally Docking Program it’s quite simple to accomplish this task and I’d completed today’s update on both our units in about Fifteen Minutes. When I turned them on afterwards the same message appeared and their Techs are off for the Long Weekend. Guess I’ll be calling them on Tuesday to get this fixed once and for all.

Kathy suggested another Matinee Movie so we watched “Home Front” which is about a retired DEA agent that is trying to raise his daughter after his wife passes. The problem is when his past comes back to haunt him. Lots of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

For supper it didn’t take long to grill a couple of All-Beef Hotdogs on the Weber while Kathy served up some Coleslaw and Potato Salad as sides.

Once we finished cleaning the Dishes we needed to get out. Since it was already 7:00 we headed over to our daughter-in-law Jen’s house in Essex. She had the boys out in the pool earlier this afternoon and was more then happy to sit inside to visit. She’s doing well and we’ll be back to visit a few more times before the kids go back to school.
Almost like Quartzsite.
Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer than today. Wonder what we’ll be up to?  Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. I understand the heat keeping you indoors. I have to let the dog out and that is tough enough, he isn't crazy about going out there either but well... But he sure does it quickly as the stones are very hot.
