We both managed to sleep like a couple of
rocks last night but when I kissed Kathy to wake her this morning she wanted More, more time to sleep that is. Being
Retired means that we shouldn’t need
to set the Alarm to wake us up
before we want to. (I shut the Alarm
off again this morning.) We are trying to wake earlier so that it won’t be such
a shock when we have to use it on Thursday when I go for my first Cataract Surgery.
We had a lite breakfast of English Muffins with Rhubarb as a topping. We both grew up
eating it when we were children and carried it into our adult life. We were
fortunate to find it in the grocery stores this past spring as well as our son
Kevin getting a large bunch from his garden.
We finished our Coffee/Tea at the Computers
and started our inside chores by 9:00 because we had people coming this
morning. Putting the Computer Stands
off to the side really opened up the room. Once I’d packed away the trash I headed
outside to move the Truck over to
the Overflow
Parking Area so our visitors
could park right on our Site.
Once the Truck was parked I came back and noticed that a lot of Grass and Weeds were trying to grow in our driveway so I pulled out our Garden Sprayer and gave them a good dose
of Vinegar being cautious not to get
it on the lawn. Just as I was finishing Mary pulled up.
Mary from Healthy Heals was here to tend to Kathy’s feet. Due to Kathy
having Diabetes and our Health Care Coverage this service is
covered. Mary also taught me years ago, what to do so while we are away I can
tend to Kathy’s feet. She also likes hearing about our travels and dreams of
the day that she’ll be able to do things like that.
It was nearly noon when Mary left and as we
were tidying up Three Minutes later my
sister Anna arrived. We try to get-together at least once a year but with
everything we’ve been doing and the fact that she lives in London which is Two Hours away it’s not always easy.
With the outside Humidex already at
the Century Mark we sat inside so
that she could cool down which also gave us time to start catching up on what
is happening in her life.
Around 12:30 we took the Escape and headed to the Michigan Diner in Essex for lunch. It’s been a while so we
thought we would be different and all ordered Fish and Onion Rings on a Tuesday. That was the first time Anna ordered
hers that way and really enjoyed it. Anna also notice a lot of other people
around us ordering Fish and Chips rather
then the Day’s Specials. It’s that
Good.
We were back at the Park before 1:30 and gave Anna a
quick little driving tour around so that she could better understand the layout
that we often write about. Back Home at our Trailer Anna brought in her new Laptop Case and showed us what she has been up to. She has started making
a Family Tree that is starting to
look like a Forest. She looked up our
Mother’s side of the family, then our Father’s side of the family and adding
what information we could add. She also was looking up her Mother-in-law’s family
as well as her Father-in-law’s side of the family. Each of those are being
researched separately and they each contain a Hundred or more people. We also talked about our Parents and Late Spouses. All three of us, Anna, Kathy and myself have traveled
that road and even though it happened a long time ago we still got choked up
thinking about those final days. It was past 4:30 when we said our Good Byes with Hugs and Kisses.
It was past 6:30 when Kathy made us each a Chicken Salad Wrap. We ate more out of
habit then hunger. We watched a Morgan
Freeman Double Feature tonight. Both Movies were about a time that both
Kathy and I remembered living through.
Tomorrow we’ve got things to get done
before my Cataract Surgery and then
Kathy is going to keep you informed about what we are doing until I can see the
Computer again. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Sorry, no Pictures today.

Making a family tree is a lot of work but well worth it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice visit with your sister. We all just need to slow down and visit our loved ones. Life is too short, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteFamily trees are fascinating. I haven't done much work in that area, but what I have is so interesting to read. Good luck with the surgery!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely visit with your sister! I really don't know much about family trees, but it sure would be interesting! Take care you two!
