Why this keeps happening, I wish it would just stop so I could sleep like a normal person is supposed to do. Last night I was repeatedly back and forth between my Recliner and Bed. Though the four episodes of trying to sleep only amounted to resting, and Kathy did not even try to snuggle the bedding away from me.
Looking out the Balcony Door, the only thing that was not White were the vehicles that had not moved yesterday. If they had, the internal heat would have melted the bottom layer and turned to Ice from the morning temperature of 10 F (-12 C) feeling like -8 F (-22 C). The Flurries continued past 10:30 to the point of causing small Drifts on the Balcony Railing. It would be hours later when the Birds flying up to the neighbour’s bird feeders would start to knock them down.
We splurged this morning by having Cereal for breakfast, before taking our Coffees to our Computers around 9:00. There was plenty of reading to get caught up on. Around 11:00, the Sun started shining in our eyes and even though the temperature had not increased yet we could see water droplets dripping down from above.
With a List
I had taken the time to make, we waited past 1:00
before heading out. Let’s
just say we made a mistake by wearing Shoes
while trudging through the Two
Inches of Slush. Our
Feet
did
feel slightly damp, because the parking lot had not been cleaned. Not
wanting to use the Hiking Stick
under these conditions, I looked like someone walking a Tight-Rope
for balance, while Kathy continued using my Cane.
Breakfast was long gone, so using a Coupon we stopped at Wendy’s to have lunch. Luckily, their parking lot had been cleaned. Service is always fast and with a smile and in the short time we ate, I counted 37 vehicles use the Drive-Thru while another Twenty people ate inside. Good thing that is their slowest time of day.
We drove across the road to the Shoppers Drug Mart at the Tecumseh Mall. This parking lot had not gotten cleaned either, so our shoes continued getting a little more water logged. With my List in hand, I was able to get everything but Kathy’s personal Cane. There was less than half a bag of items that cost more than a week’s worth of groceries.
We headed towards home stopping at the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart. I don’t know why, their parking lot was also not cleaned. They had a Cane that looked exactly like mine did when I first got it. Once I payed for it, I turned to see Kathy already outside, doing the Tight-Rope balancing act, because I had both Canes.
After dropping her at the front entrance to our building I was able make it in a little dryer because most of the water had already gone down the drains.
Back at my Computer to log in the Vitamins we had just purchased onto our Medical Spreadsheet. Last Night’s lack of sleep cause my eyes to Blink for a Half Hour.
We watched the “6 o’clock Local News” before having a slice of Fruit Cake for supper. The Weather Guesser said we reached 18 F (-7.5 C) feeling like 3 F (-16 C), and can expect more Flurries for the next Week. We better dig out our Winter Boots.
We later watched “Law and Order” and “The Pitt”.
The Alarm is already set because I have an early appointment in the morning. As I am writing this post, I can hear the Plow scraping the parking lot.
