I am happy to report that I spent much more time in Bed last night than in my Recliner and woke up feeling refreshed this morning. After washing my face, I nearly walked into Kathy as she came out of the Bedroom.
After having our Breakfast Snack, Kathy
went to get ready for her afternoon appointment, while I tried to get
our Laptop Computers back On-Line using my Cell
Phone. Unfortunately, what worked last night would not work
today.
Using a couple of the few minutes we had to spare; I
brought the Recycle containers
downstairs to add to the freshly emptied Recycle
Bins. Yesterday, they were spilling over Full,
possibly due to the recent Christmas
Holidays.
Upstairs, Kathy was nearly ready to go, once the Containers were back in place. It took less than a Minute to have the Modem disconnected, under my arm and heading out the door.
Our first stop was to take advantage of Mary Brown’s chicken, Monday Special. This is high grade Chicken Sandwiches that were piping hot, coming out of the Cooker. Since it is located so close to a High School, the place was full of Students when we first walked in, but by the time we finished eating, there were only Seniors filling the place.
Our next stop at was our Internet Provider’s Office. I mentioned yesterday that our Modem has lasted for a number of years, so when we walked in, it looked totally different than the last time we were here. This time, there were people ahead of us, but within minutes it was our turn. First I mentioned the Problem, then I mention the Computerized Circus that I tried calling yesterday. I walked out with a replacement Modem and a different Phone Number to call for Technical Support.
A few blocks away, with Kathy’s appointment not due for another Ninety Minutes, we walked around the Medical Building, which actually helped wear down some of our lunch. We even found the newly installed Clear Imaging location that I would have used Three Weeks ago, if I had known it was there. Only being able to walk the same halls a few times before it gets old, we finally headed to the Windsor Heart Institute. By that point, it was just over an Hour to Kathy’s appointed time, but the Receptionist brightened our day when she said, “Kathy might be brought in earlier”, and she was.
She was there to get a Heart Monitor, that she will wear for Three Days, before dropping it off. It will be uploaded so the Cardiologist can analyze the information, before he sees Kathy near the end of the month. We were both surprised how much different this unit is. It is not the clumsy Cowbell size that she has often worn, and it is Waterproof so she can Shower while wearing it.
We headed straight for home and the first thing I did when I got in the Apartment, was to take a picture of the Label on the rear of the recently acquired Modem. Next, I had logged the Computers onto the Modem, but they would not work.
After repeating the process three more times, I called the newly acquired Phone Number. It was still a Ten-Minute run around, until Sara in Montreal took my call. She had me doing the same old same old a few more times before trying the Reset at their end. When nothing worked, she made an appointment for a Technician to come check it out on Thursday.
We watched the “6 o’clock Local News” before sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Chicken Pizza for a late supper.
I was going to use my Cell Phone again this evening, but it would not connect. That was when I looked down to see my Computer connected to the Internet. Looking at Kathy’s Computer, it was connected as well. If we can connect tomorrow morning, I will be cancelling that appointment.
We later watched a couple of episodes of “The Pitt”. Can’t wait for their new season to start.
