Hurry Up and Wait.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Last night was a big improvement in the sleep department, the only complaint I had was having to start my day as early as possible. The Alarm was not set, but the moment that I looked at the clock, I knew there was less than Two Hours to my appointment time. After a Muffin and Yogurt Cup, along with a quick check of The Weather Network, we were headed for the door.

Taking the Parkway to the Expressway, we arrived at the Medical Center, with only minutes to spare. Entering the Pain Care Center that I had gone to back in June, the receptionist told me who I was seeing and directed us back to another Office, close to where we had entered the building. (That gave us all the walking exercise we needed for the day.) More papers to sign before we were directed to an Examination Room. Finally, a Nurse/Practitioner showed up.

Though there were questions about my Shoulder, the main concern was for my Neck. Longtime Readers may remember the Neck Pain was so bad in January, I was barely able to lay down to sleep. It resulted in my sleeping more in my Recliner then in Bed. I’ve had X-Rays, Ultrasounds and CT Scansbut never any real treatment. Our Canadian Health Care System used to be the envy of the world, where things were done Promptly and Efficiently. Now it’s a lot of hurry up and wait.

Today, sounded more like a Sales Pitch, rather than actually doing anything. I was prescribed a 30-Day low dosage Pain/Muscle Relaxant, to hold me over until the next appointment, where I may actually see a Neurological Doctor. So far, it’s been over Eight Months, Three Tests, Five Doctors Appointments and Zero Relief. It’s a good thing Kathy and I, keep one another going.

We stopped at Arby’s on the way home and shared a Roast Beef Sandwich for lunch. We celebrated with Root Beer.

Next stop was at Health First Pharmacy, to get this new Medication. The Pharmacist warned me of the side effects, Loss of Balance and Swelling in my Legs, both of which I already have.

It was already warming up when we reached our building, so I dropped Kathy at the front entrance.

We later had Baked Beans with Chopped Hot Dogs on Toast for supper.

After watching few episodes of “Forensic Files”, we watched “11 o’clock Local News”. There was a Tragedy not too far away on Lake St. Clair, when a young Teenager ran her Jet-Ski into a Break-Wall. Our temperatures are slowly cooling down.

We are going to try doing some early morning walking.
