Suffering For A Good Cause.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

We both woke up feeling well rested this morning, but we weren’t going to push our luck. After a light breakfast of a Muffin and Yogurt Cup, we got into our morning reading on the Computers. We also remembered that there was something special going on today, and we wanted to take part by supporting the cause.

We were on our way to Tecumseh to have lunch at Dairy Queen (DQ). That’s not the special part thought, it was the dessert. Every year, DQ donates all the profits made from the sale of their Blizzard desserts to the Children's Hospitals across Canada. So in order that they achieve success, we braved the crowds to lend our stomachs and taste buds to a good cause.

I was surprised, when researching how few DQ locations there are now in Windsor area. I recalled many years ago, at least Six of their Drive-In locations in the city, when my parents drove the family for those summer treats. Now, there is only one location on the West Side of Windsor, and the other which is closer to our location, is in Tecumseh.

The Humidex was only feeling like 95 F (35 C) by the time we returned home, so Kathy insisted on walking from the parking lot together, as a way of wearing some of that goodness off.

Even though I enjoy supporting those worthy causes, this one was causing me problems. It wasn’t until Kathy and I used to stop at Ice Cream Shops, that I recognized a problem I’d had all my life. As a kid I drank milk all the time, but when recently tested, it was proven that I am Lactose Intolerant. When we have Milk, Yogurt Cups or Frozen Yogurt at home, it is all Lactose Free.

Unfortunately, I pay twice for supporting these special events. I finally started feeling hungry around 7:00 so we had Macaroni and Cheese for supper.

We later watched “Criminal Minds” and the “11 o’clock Local News”. Looks like we are finally starting our Summer/Fall transition.

No sleeping late tomorrow, because I have another appointment.
