No Power, Murphy.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After having a good night’s sleep we though having Eggs on Toasts would be a fitting breakfast but Murphy was in the area. Stoves in Apartments are all electrical along with our Internet. By 8:30 the Electricity went out so we enjoyed our Juice with our Medications. Looking down the hall the emergency lighting was on giving a bit of an idea where the walls were. Looking out the Balcony Door, the Traffic Light down the road was out and Utility Crews were driving around in an effort to restore the power. That finally happen just before 11:00 so instead of breakfast, we enjoyed a Medium Store-Bought Thin-Crust Spinach Pizza for brunch. We didn’t have to rush this morning so we had plenty of time to read the News, Messages and Blogs afterwards.

We were out the door around 1:00, for an appointment to get the Batteries replaced in Kathy’s Hearing Aids. We’ve been very happy with the way our Car has been running but were a little shocked when it would not start today. The Clicking sound coming from under the hood told me our Battery needed replacing. I looked around for Murphy. Luckily CAA could have someone to give us a boost in an Hour. I called Hearing Life about the issue, so they rescheduled Kathy for tomorrow.

Raising the Hood on the Car in preparation of the Service Truck arriving, I noticed a lot of Dirt and Debris building on the Cabin Vents, so decided to get our Battery Powered Vacuum to clean them. Kathy waited while I went back to the Apartment to get the tool. I charge the Batteries every time they are used. Imagine my surprise when the Battery only lasted Five Seconds. I was certain Murphy was in the car that suddenly left the parking lot. Kathy went upstairs and returned with the rest of the Batteries. Only one, had held it’s charge.

The Service Truck arrived on schedule and with a quick boost we were on our way. Knowing that Jim was buried in work, we went over to Canadian Tire. The Service Manager said to shut it down, so we decided to go to Burger King for their Whopper Wednesday Deals while the repair was being done. Looking over our shoulder there was the Mechanic boosting the Car to get it into the shop.

Kathy was concerned about how far we had to walk but we took our time. It was nearly 4:00 when we sat down to eat and the place suddenly filled up. It was after 4:30 when we headed back to Canadian Tire. We were nearly to the Service Department when the Car was brought back to where we had parked it before. Our round trip walk was nearly a Mile, but we were feeling good, because of all the Fresh Air. One New Battery with Labour $325.00. I heard Murphy laughing.

After parking we brought the Vacuum and Batteries up to the Apartment. Setting them to charge while we watched the 6 o’clock Local News, I later noticed that not all the Batteries were charging. That means that New Charger is not doing its job. Murphy was on a Power Tripping Day.

  1. Wow that was quite the day.
Hope that battery lasts a long time.
Did the battery have gold plate in it?
    Everything is so expensive.
I had the transmission serviced on the truck and it was almost $600.00
Then they spilled transmission fluid in the engine compartment.
    Y'all take care

  2. Murphy often shows up univited. Not a very considerate guy.
