Good Sleep and Rising Costs.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After going to bed only slightly later than most weekdays I was pleasantly surprised that I got nearly Two Days worth of sleep in One Night.

With that it was worth celebrating by using up Leftover Bananas that were too ripe to eat any other way then by mixing them into Banana Pancakes. That and our morning hot drinks would hold us at the Computers until we’d eat lunch.

This tree dropped its leaves getting ready for Halloween.

The outside temperature was a great indicator of what season of the year we were in. The leaves on the trees are changing colours but falling off within a couple days of their change.

Lunch was simple filling multiple purpose. A bowl of Split Pea with Ham Soup not only filled us but helped us to shake the chill off. For dessert we had a Yogurt Cup along with a Nanaimo Bar.

As soon as the Dishes were done we had to go run some errands. The first was the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart where I picked up some Vitamins that I did not realize we were low on.

Shelves filled with Christmas Decorations already.

Our next stop was Dollarama to pick up needed supplies beyond our regular food stocks.

Since we were on Wyandotte Street I showed Kathy the location of the Pharma Care drug store that handles our Prescription Medications.

Our next stop was the No-Frills grocery store just up the street. When we were Fulltiming we often shopped at the one in Amherstburg but now it is more convenient to shop at the Zehr’s. With the rising grocery prices we thought we would take a peek. Right off the bat we had a problem when neither of us had Coins to use a Shopping Cart. That limited our shopping to the Produce Section.

With a low tank and rising prices we stopped at Pioneer gas station to top off the Car. At $1.656/Litre ($6.267/US Gallon). I’m hoping the Diesel comes down next week because right now it is going for $2.396/Litre ($9.069/US Gallon).

With a big chore waiting for me as soon as we got back to the Apartment we decided to use a Coupon and have supper at Taco Bell. It was just after 4:00 when we arrived so things were slow and we were able to have a peaceful meal. As we were leaving around 4:30 we had a hard time leaving because the place and Drive-Thru suddenly became busy.

Back home there were Two U-Hauls trying to off load at the same time. Talk about Chaos.

The Wind was rattling our Windows but we hit a high of 61 F (16 C). I settled in at the table and Three and a Half Hours later finished filling our Pill Doucettes for the next Forty-Five Days.

We’ll be doing a bit more at the Trailer tomorrow.

Krackers

Why don’t skeletons ever go trick-or-treating?

Because they have nobody to go with.

  1. Your diesel prices are the same as BC, but our gas price are much higher than yours ... which really doesn't matter to us since we use diesel :-(

  2. I agree, it’s shocking to see Christmas stuff out already, we haven’t even been spooked by ghosts and goblins yet.

  3. I finally got caught up with your blog today. I am glad your hernia situation will not require surgery for now.

I did not know there were still places where you had to put a coin in to get a shopping cart. We had those in Houston many moons ago and it certainly made people return them to their proper location.
