Back
to Work
this morning the first thing we needed to do was to start fine
tuning the project. That meant anything from smoothing edges, to
making adjustments and making total changes. A Hydraulic
Specialist from another company was even brought in to see if he
could get the system to work the way they had designed it.
After
the morning Break others were brought over so that the unit
could be manually lifted to its final mounting spot. After the final
connections were made it was all elbow grease cleaning it off with
Rubbing Alcohol even removing Foot and Finger Prints
from the Aluminium.
Today
was a special day at the Plant. Normally on the Last Friday
of every month they have a Barbecue for their employees during
the warmer months. This time they waited a week so it would fall on
the Friday before the Long Weekend. They had Hamburgers,
Sausages, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Pickles,
Nacho Chips and Pop. I was more then happy to have a
Hamburger with Potato Salad and the Pop while
others filled their plates a few times.
Some
of the guys heard Gerry our Supervisor ask about the
Fifth-Wheel Hitch in our Truck and my response. They
couldn’t believe that we lived in it and we headed south in the
Winter. When I told them about being in the Desert
totally “Off the Grid” they were asking what I was doing
there instead of being on the road. My answer was that it all comes
at a cost and last winter our Truck cost us big time.
Having
a few minutes before going back to work I called Kathy at Home.
She had just gotten back from Windsor where
the Credit Union spent time
fixing our Account Security Passwords. They even had trouble
to get it to work properly. Once she got Home
she was able to do our On-Line Banking
with no further problems. We’ll see how it goes next month.
At
1:30 the First Proto-Type was on its way to the Customer.
After the next Three we all hope they like what we produced.
If they do it could mean at least another Two Hundred Units.
That was also the time I was told that my area was being relocated to the other shop. It took a lot of cleaning and disposing of Scrap Pieces left behind by the previous welder. By the end of the day the only thing left is to have an Electrician add some Plugs for the Welding Machines.

At
Home Kathy and I had a chance to
visit before I grilled a Store Bought Spinach and Mozzarella Thin
Crust Pizza for supper. It didn’t take long and was done
exactly the way we like it.
It’s
been a while so this evening we watched the movie “Code Of
Honor” starring Steven Seagal. It was not the normal role that
we are used to seeing him in but it kept you wondering what would
happen next. There was some Nudity and lots of Graphic
Violence but we gave it a Nine out of Ten.
We
are wishing all our readers an Enjoyable Civic Long Weekend.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
about time.
