It
felt wonderful to once again sleep until nearly 7:00 this morning.
After setting everything up for breakfast I headed straight to my
Computer.
The
first thing I did was to reply to an E-Mail from our
Good Friends Wayne and Sue from Washington
State who we met in January 2017 and became Friends.
Each year since then we have set up camp near one another at La
Posa South LTVA outside of Quartzsite
making the bond grow stronger. It is nice to keep in touch.
Kathy
woke shortly after 8:00 so after finishing breakfast we both took our
Coffee/Tea over to the Computers for a short while. As
soon as my Coffee was finished I started my inside chores. As
soon as I was dressed we changed locations Kathy getting dressed and
myself reading the last Blog of the morning.
By
10:00 we were on our way towards Windsor
on an important mission. When Kathy was growing up when she asked her
mother how to get places she was told to use Landmarks. The
problem is that in this city Landmarks are modified, replaced
or just removed. Now that I am working she has to drive herself
places that most of her Landmarks no longer exist and roads
have been rerouted. I took her on the roads, streets and avenues that
she has to travel on giving her their Names. When I drove in
the past she just enjoyed the ride but today it was like she was
going to these places for the very first time. She said she could
find her way easier to Yuma Arizona
then in our Home Town of Windsor
due to all the changes.
We
hadn’t gotten our Mail in the last couple of days so we
stopped at Guardian Storage where
Kathy had to learn how to do so. With that accomplished we went back
to our Climate Controlled Storage Unit to pick up our small
Filing Cabinet. Kathy will go through it this week getting rid
of old receipts and putting in the latest ones from this past winter
to present day.
We
then stopped at Wendy’s where
we enjoyed our Chicken Wraps, Chocolate Frosties and
Senior’s Soft Drinks at the low cost of $7.19. As
soon as summer is finished the price will shoot up by a couple of
dollars.
We
were soon headed across town to the Devonshire
Retirement Home to visit with my aunt Anna. After signing
in we found her sitting in the downstairs visiting room with my
cousin Ann Marie. They both looked to be in shock when I mentioned
that I was back to work. After a short while Ann Marie headed for
home giving us a chance to visit.
We
learned how my uncle Bob was really suffering towards the end and was
avoiding visiting with anyone but with some scheming she brought him
out of his shell. It seemed to get noisy with people talking in the
background so we continued visiting in her private room. She is still
having a hard time getting over loosing the love of her life after 58
Years together. It was close to 4:00 when we said
our good byes with promises of returning soon.
We
decided to stop at Wendy’s on
our way Home to have the same
thing for supper as we did for lunch. This location had run out of
Baked Potatoes which we seldom have along with Grilled
Chicken and Wraps. By just having Sandwiches with
our Frosties and Senior’s Soft Drinks more
then doubled the cost.

I think it is good you found a job when you needed it. And much better since you seem to be enjoying the work also.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you made the time to visit your aunt, I am sure you made her day.
ReplyDeleteNot only you are back to work, but Kathy has more to do. A marriage is team work in progress.
ReplyDeleteI'm like Kathy in the respect that when Ken is driving I'm just enjoying the ride. Especially when we go to Reno and I'm driving I always have to ask him for directions. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteIt's always good for both parties to know how to navigate the area. Good for Kathy for taking up the reins when you are working!!
ReplyDeleteIt's true. When just going along for the ride, one tends to not pay much attention. After over two years here, when I drive into town alone I get easily confused.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering how Kathy was managing. Together you seem to do so very many errands everyday and now she seems to be home on her own and not getting out. It will be good for her to go do some errands on her own.
ReplyDeleteNo quetion that it is good to know how to get around, not to mention getting back to where you started:)
