When
we went to bed last night the Wind was rattling our Slide
Covers so hard and bringing the Rain down on the Roof
with force that only way we could sleep was to use our Ear
Plugs to block the noise. Hours later when we got up to have
breakfast the Wind was still giving the Trailer some
hard jolts that we felt like we were moving. The Rain also
continued to come down. Unlike past mornings this week there was
nobody outside walking.
With
no let up in sight and a forecast that called for Rain the
entire day we resigned ourselves that this would be best spent
inside. After having our second cup at the Computers I had to
call Norton in order to renew our
Virus Protection because with the slow speed of our Verizon
MiFi I could not connect to their Site.
We’d
had a lite breakfast and since we were far from being active we again
had a lite lunch by simply having a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup.
After
ensuring that we were caught up on all there was to read on the
Computers we decided to watch a movie. I mentioned many times how
we prefer those that are based on actual fact so this fit the bill
entirely. We watched “USS Indianapolis Men Of Courage”
starring Nicolas Cage. This was about the Destroyer assigned
with delivering The Bomb that was used against Japan
to end WWII. On its return it was torpedoed and sank. Most of
the movie revolves around those that survived in the Shark
Infested Waters. We have also learned to watch the Credits
and Extra Scenes in movies we really like. In this one talked
about the making of the movie and there were many of the actual
Survivors commenting about that time in history.
For
supper we finished the Leftover Chicken that we had in the
Fridge along with the few Leftover Olives that we
started back in Quartzsite.
As
we were getting up from the table I noticed something at the end of
the street. Throughout the surrounding Golf
Course there are Water Hazards that are used to
collect the Run Off from the RV Park.
At breakfast I noticed the Water Level was nearly Three
Feet from the top edge of the Embankments. Since it had
been raining all day and the streets were Water covered the
level had risen to within only a Foot from the top. Thankfully
it had finally stopped raining.
