The
temperatures we’ve been getting the last few days are quite a bit
like what we felt this past winter in the desert around
Quartzsite,
Arizona.
But that was then and even though it is spring here in Ontario
from all the Blogs
that
we’ve
read from other Canadian
Snowbirds
we
are all feeling the Cold.
One thing I paid a lot of attention to while in the southwest was the
fact that the slightest breeze seemed to chill us
to the bone because there was very little Humidity.
Guess what I’ve noticed on the few sunny afternoons since we’ve
been home, very little Humidity
making us feel like we are back in the desert.
I
slept until nearly 8:00 this morning and the first thing I did was to
turn on our Heaters
before getting things ready for breakfast. I let Kathy sleep in so
she would worry less about the
Missing Mail.
It was 9:05 when my Cell
Phone
rang and it showed it was Guardian
Storage.
When I answered it was Carol apologizing for the mix up. They had all
of our Mail
it
was just that the New
Employee
had looked in the wrong File.
Minutes
later Kathy was downstairs and when I told her about the Mail
she
let out a sigh of relief. That meant we wouldn’t have to scramble
trying to contact multiple
Agencies
and Companies
to replace what had been previously thought
to be MIA.
We
took our
time at
getting our everyday chores completed before heading out the door.
While Kathy was still getting ready I walked over to check if the
Park
Laundry Room
was open for business. It was open but there was a strange smell so I
went looking to find the source. All the Shower
Rooms
and Washrooms
had been completely redone. The walls that used to be simply Painted
Concrete
were now done with Ceramic
Tiles
along with new Toilettes,
Wash
Basins and
Shower
Heads.
That
is one thing about Wildwood
Golf and RV Park,
they are always improving things to make it better for it’s
Residents
and Guests.
We
were soon on our way to
Windsor
and we arrived at Guardian
Storage
by 11:00. As soon as I walked in Carol was standing there with Two
Bundles of Mail
waiting for us. She again apologized for the Inconvenience
and
explained that the young woman had looked in the Wrong
File.
Kathy
and I sat in the Car
in
their parking lot for
nearly a Half
Hour ripping
open all the envelopes so she could sort what was what. We then had
to go to our Credit
Union
to deposit a couple of Cheques
that
had been mailed to
us just after we headed south in November.
With
that done we headed over to Harvey’s
for lunch. Since we ask our kids to give us Gift
Cards
rather then something we might not have room for we were able to use
one of those Cards
to pay for our meal. Kathy had a Grilled
Chicken Wrap while
I had one of their Original
Hamburgers.
What we really like about Harvey’s
is you tell them what they put on your sandwiches right in front of
you.
We
needed to stop at Canadian
Tire
for a few things and one was a new Tire
for
our Tandem
Bicycle.
Luckily we had a couple of Gift
Cards
for there as well because Tire
Prices
have sure gone up.
We
got home around 2:30 and while Kathy settled in at the table to
finish sorting the Mail
I
busied myself sorting the Laundry.
It’s lucky we have as many clothes as we do because the last time
we did the laundry was in Blythe,
California
on
March the 28th.
Once
I had the Laundry
in the Washing
Machines
I went back Home
and started packing the Trash
and
Recycle
while
Kathy was still working on the Mail.
After
getting everything into the Dryers
I headed back to the Trailer
just to relax for a few minutes. Since it was past 5:00 and
Kathy
had
everything ready to take to our Accountants
to do our Income
Taxes
and
she
was just starting to get things ready for supper. She started by
making dessert first a Strawberry
Shortcake Cup.
Problem was the Dryers
were about finished so we ate our Desserts
first as a way of tiding us over until
I came back.
With
that much
Laundry
it took over an Hour
to fold it all up. As I was packing it away in our Shopping
Cart
a gentleman named Tom had just finished taking a shower and started
asking me questions about the Park
itself.
He and his Wife had just returned today from Mission,
Texas.
When he asked where we went I told him but he couldn’t understand
how anyone could set up their own Solar
Panels and
Charging
System.
He
might stop by in the morning to learn more.
It
was after 7:00 by the time I walked in with our clean
Laundry.
That was the cue for Kathy to finish making supper while I started
unpacking our Shopping
Cart
because it’s too large to bring upstairs. Kathy made a nice Spring
Salad
and warmed
up
some Chicken
in the Microwave.
After supper we worked together putting away the Clothes
then doing the
Dishes.
We
have
some Phone
Calls
to make tomorrow and maybe some Errands
to run. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s
