Visiting Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After having a good night’s sleep we were a little concerned about this afternoon’s weather. Looking out the balcony window the parking lot was full of puddles all around from rain that wasn’t predicted nor did we even hear it coming down through the night.
Turning on the Weather Channel while we ate our breakfast they were predicting showers from Isaac through the course of the afternoon all the way until suppertime. With the overcast skies it looked like they might be right and we better be ready for our afternoon picnic with the kids to get wet. By lunch time the sky had darkened but we weren’t going to jinx anything so we had our lunch and packed sandwiches, fruit, muffins and a few pops into the cooler.
The drive was only 15 minutes from the apartment to the park and the sky continued to be overcast. Kathy suddenly realized that the umbrella she thought was in the car was in fact back home in the truck. Putting on a brave front we unloaded the chairs and joined our group. They all seemed surprise because they had not seen the truck drive in and were wondering where we had parked. I had parked less than fifty feet away.
Soon cousins & other family members from Jennifer’s side of the family started to arrive and everyone was busy catching up with everyone about what has been happening. The children started playing on the playground equipment and splash pad having a blast while the adults were getting caught up.
Suddenly without warning the clouds broke up and the sun came out in all its glory for the first time today. Being that we were near the shore line of Lake St. Clair even with the temperature being in the upper eighties the breeze kept us all comfortable.
By the time the gathering was over and everyone was starting to head for home Kathy and I took a walk around. Both Kathy and I recalled what the area looked like over thirty years ago and it surely didn’t look this good. The Town of Belle River’s marina had gone through a major renovation making it into a park area for families of all ages to enjoy.
On our way home we stopped at our daughter Karen’s home. They had unexpected guests over but they all know us and were asking about our travels and our new trailer. Again everyone was getting caught up about everyone else’s adventures while the kids were swimming in the pool.
They all wished us safe travels for our next adventure in 2 days on Tuesday. Knowing that means that there is only 114 days left until Christmas Day. Thanks for following along. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Family get togethers are always fun, especially when the weather remains nice.
