Friday morning we slept in because it was so dark outside. After a closer look through the open curtains it was noted that nature was making an attempt to help the area recover from its lack of rain for the season. I noted a few other tenants making dashes to their vehicles using umbrellas and still being very wet after such a short jaunt. With no need to go out we never even crossed the threshold of the apartment door to check for our mail.
Finally after lunch the rain slowly came to a stop but the clouds stayed with us the remainder of the day. Watching the weather forecast we saw the southern part of the province stayed cloud covered while most other parts showed to be clearing. Also I had to deal with a few calls that left me hanging. They say they will get back to you but don’t. It just seems to put you in a nonproductive state of mind with nothing to write about. Even after reading all the blogs we follow there seemed to be a funk in the air that put a damper on our feelings.
This morning we woke early to a bright light shining into our bedroom. Opening the curtains to clear but cooler skies gave us both a boost of energy and seemed to raise our spirits immediately. Before lunch we had read all the E-mails and blogs on our list and we were already making plans of errands to do and entertainment for the afternoon. The first steps I took out of the apartment today were to take out the trash and collect the mail that had been left behind yesterday.
Off we went to Canadian Tire to see if they might have something we thought would make a good Christmas gift. Not only did they have it but at a bargain price to boot.
Now we headed off to the Devonshire Mall. First we continued on our quest to look for more Christmas gifts but came away empty handed. Next we used another money saving coupon and both enjoyed a three piece chicken dinner from Kentucky Fried Chicken. After savoring our meal we finally headed to the Cinema-Plex to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Kathy and I enjoyed it because we could almost relate to the theme of the movie and left us in a more positive frame of mind when we left for home.
It seems that when we are home for periods of time we need to have a break from the same old same old. With Christmas Day being only 103 days away you really want to be in a happy mood. Thanks for following along. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
