Typical Busy Day.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After breakfast this morning I was out the door around 9:00 to attend a meeting at the Caboto Club in Windsor. The reason was to hear what the results of contract negotiating had produced for the membership of my old workplace. It turned in to a win/win situation for everyone. It wasn’t going to cost the company any more then what it cost now and the union gave up little but secured important language to protect the workers.
It was after 1:00 before I got home for lunch. With the weather being cool and cloudy after eating we headed to the trailer. The idea was to bring things that belonged in the trailer back and to slowly start removing other things before we shut the trailer down for the season.
Leaving the yard we headed in a different direction on a scouting mission. We were looking around for apartment buildings that we might consider moving to if we decided to move from where we are at now. If that would ever happen it would all be because of economics. Since we are on a fixed income if the company that owns the building raises our rent too much it would cut into our travels. Rather than doing that we would downsize our apartment even if it meant moving.
When we moved last year from our house we were in the midst of getting ready for a long trip. There also was not much choice of apartments available. Now we are not in a rush to move and when we are not travelling we can shop around for something better suited for us.
Since Christmas is only 95 days away we stopped at the Tecumseh Mall to continue our quest for gifts for our children and grandchildren. We spent close to two hours walking looking and buying. We again successfully reduced the number of gifts still to buy.
After a quick stop at the Metro Grocery store we headed home where I barbecued a couple of nice Sirloin Steaks while Kathy made the salad and other sides inside. Eating supper in the dining room we were able to watch the six o’clock news. Hearing the contract had been ratified by an 82% vote in favor was as welcoming piece of news as the beautiful weather forecast for the next few days.
With the dishes put away we went over to visit our daughter Karen. She seems to have some kind of stomach flu. Our grandson Tyler is back to his weekly hockey games and has been training Sanford to run through a small obstacle course that he set up in the backyard. Our granddaughter Kylla still hasn’t heard the results of the test for her possible Gallbladder attacks. She also took Kathy’s advice and wrote the test on Friday to get her beginners driving license.
Now after posting this blog I will be busy catching up on reading all the blogs we follow since this is the first time today we’ve had the chance. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to follow along with us and leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
