Addressing Comment Concern.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Beryl moved out of our area sometime after we went to bed last night. We both slept fairly well. I only turned over a few times. That is known because it wakes me up every time I do.

I was up by 7:00 this morning for no apparent reason, other than I was just laying there. I hadn’t even started getting things ready for breakfast, when Kathy joined me. We enjoyed the last of the Strawberries on our Cereal, before taking our Teas to the Computers.

I was in the process of my morning reading when Mark our Financial Advisor/Friend called. When there was nobody at the Bank on Tuesday to talk to, I called him. Unfortunately, I only got his Voice Mail, and he was finally able to respond today. After hearing our concerns, he fired off a message to the Accounts Manager, so he could put an end to these letters from whoever was trying to make name for themselves.

The early breakfast gave me extra time to get lunch ready. I was cleaning the Fridge again today. We ended up having Bacon/Veggie Wraps for lunch.

It seems Kathy is having a hard time remembering that the Preparation Procedures for the Endoscopy are for me and not her. I already know what has to be done. The other day when I wrote about this test, there was concern expressed in a Comment. The first time I had this done, I had the same concerns, but not anymore.

My Father died of Colon Cancer at the age of 69 back in 1992 and lived with a Colostomy Bag for only Six Weeks, because the problem was not found earlier. Today prevention is being pushed at an earlier age. When my Family Doctor saw I was over Sixty and had not been checked, I was booked for a Consult within days. Seeing the Specialist, he noted I had the risk factor because of my Father. When he asked what I had done for a living, My risk factor took me to the top of the list, leaving my Father down near the bottom. Within Two Days, I had my first Colonoscopy. Each time I’ve had this done, Pre-Cancerous Polyps were removed, and I suffered no Aftereffects.

Since I Re-Retired last December, I developed a problem that was similar to my Father in his final months. In fact it was so bad, it inadvertently caused me to get another Hernia. That will be dealt with at a later time. It was my choosing to have this checked out, before it develops into something serious. I know the risks but I also know the benefits that this procedure can bring. In my heart, after seeing too many taken away, too early in life, I know it’s the practical thing to do.

This Procedure has been improved over the years, but mistakes can still happen. What I am trying to say is, if your Doctor recommends this to you, don’t hesitate to have it done. It could save your life as it did to me.

As the time for the 6 o’clock Local News was approaching I sauteed some Asparagus and Home-Made Fries, to go with the Spareribs that were in the oven. Dessert was Bing Cherries.

Though we got a call from Guardian Storage today, that our Amazon Package had arrived, we decided to save that for tomorrow, after the last Mail Delivery of the week.

  1. My friend whose life was basically ruined by the colonoscopy would beg to differ with you. However, it is your choice to make and you have to accept and live with unintended consequences. I do one of those colon cancer screenings every year, and as long as it is negative, no colonoscopy for me. Just sayin'

  2. I have Never known anyone who had a colonoscopy - that the doctor did not say "I removed a tiny polop - but, you're fine - come back in 10 years." I realize that You have a family history - so very understandable & best wishes. But, I'm also sure, if you have good insurance & your doctor can't figure out what is wrong with you.? - he passes you along to his buddy to do a colonoscopy. Why shouldn't everybody share the wealth of insurance money.! I do pray that you get thru all your surgeries with flying colors - & maybe someday You & Kathy can travel again.

  3. Sounds like you are taking all the necessary precautions, I would too if I had a family history with that issue.
