Breaking Cabin Fever.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After sleeping in this morning until nearly 8:30 it didn’t take too long to get to the computers and do our morning reading. We then made a list of stops that we needed to make this morning and were out the door before 10:00.

Our first stop was Cartridge World where they recycle ink cartridges from printers of all kinds and charge far less for the refilled ones compared to the new brand named ones which are also available. Next we went to the 7 Eleven to purchase a Shout-out cell phone that is meant for use in Canada only. This works the same as our US Trac Phone where you purchase time to use and there is no contracts. All we have to do is add time to it every year so that we’ll maintain our number.

We headed next to the Walker Road Canadian Tire store where we had purchased a special Spatula for the apartment meant for flipping fish on the grill. All the other stores didn’t have it but they did and cheaper than when I bought the first one. Since it was nearly noon hour we used a coupon at A&W for lunch.

Now we had to do some hopping around looking for a special indoor thermometer. After looking at Canadian Tire, Home Outfitters, JSK, Lowes, Home Sense and finally Home Hardware only to be shown cheap plastic outdoor models we realized we’ll have to shop for it online.

We stopped at the trailer so I could pick up a few more tools before continuing over to Princess Auto. They had advertised LED Stop/Tail Lights on sale for $15.00 apiece that unfortunately required special wiring and special mounting hardware. Looking around the corner I found the perfect LED lights but for $20.00 each. When it comes to safety $5.00 is nothing to cry about.

We finally made it home on time to put away our few purchases and to have supper before heading out the door again. Today was Wednesday and we were on our way to visit with Kevin and Melissa in Amherstburg. However I was also going to be using the table saw. If you recall our grandson Cameron has very sensitive hearing and I had tried to use the saw while he was at school lately. However our Canadian schools are now out for summer vacation so he’s home during the day as well as at night. I figured a way that if I turned the saw on one time I could make eight accurate cuts all in less than two minutes.  Cameron didn’t have to wear sound reducing headphones for that time as the windows were closed because the air is on but he wore them anyway. I wanted to bribe him a little and buy him a Tim Horton’s coffee with a donut which would have helped to ease his suffering. He got the treat anyway as we bought it on our way there and he did wear the headphones.  The rest of our visit was all socializing and enjoying a number of laughs together.

We made a stop at the Metro grocery store on our way home to pick up a few things that will not only help us survive in the apartment but start us off when we hit the road next Monday. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Well, since you were right in your home turf, you should know where to get good stuff at an affordable price. And it's great that you chose well with those LED lights. I'm glad you realized that safety is of the utmost concern whenever you're on the road, and by installing these, you won't compromise quality for price. Plus the special wiring and separate mount would've probably cost more in the long run than the extra $5 in the other shop. Let's hope those LEDs do their jobs! Stay safe!
