Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk.

Hard to believe that it was warmer during the day today than yesterday. Last night the temperature cooled down even more than the night before. Had to look at the calendar to be certain that this is the month of July. When we got out of bed this morning Kathy needed to put a hoodie on to take the chill out of her shoulders. The weather this year is all over the place!

After having breakfast and a quick peek at the computers I headed outside to flush the tanks and stow the waste hoses in preparation for tomorrow’s trip up to Huntsville. Kathy was busy inside vacuuming more of the dirt that got embedded in the carpet while I was working on the trailer back at the storage yard. No matter how much you scrubbed your feet on the outside mat it is unbelievable how much dirt and tiny stones you would trek in. They really hurt when you step on them in your bare feet.

She was also examining our new Shout-Out cell phone trying to learn some of the functions on this smart phone when suddenly our daughter Karen was saying Hello. Kathy had inadvertently dialed Karen’s cell phone by simply touching one of the icons on the screen. They both had a laugh and Karen called her back on our house phone. That is right our house phone. When we travel in Canada we simply bring our Turbo Hub with us and anyone calling our home will make contact with us wherever we are in Canada. All our Canadian long distance calls are free and it only cost us an additional five dollars a month for us to have unlimited US long distance as well. The Turbo Hub also doubles as our MiFi hotspot when in Canada only.

After lunch we went back into London and busied ourselves Shopping. It was a productive day of Christmas shopping. With only 168 days left before Christmas Day we were taking advantage of looking through Brand Name stores that we don’t have around home. We managed to scratch a few more items off the list today but all the walking we did totally wore off all the calories we ate the last two days. At least we’re hoping!

Still searching for a few more things we headed further across town on Dundas Avenue. In the process we spotted a Home Hardware store where we stopped in to get “That Stuff for Pain”. That’s right a topical pain medication that you simply spray on and it brings relief to any number of pains including headaches and it is only sold at Home Hardware stores.

Right across the street was the Pioneer gas station where I filled up with the first Canadian fuel that I have put in the truck in nearly a year. At $1.259 a liter that works out to $4.765 a US gallon it is no wonder I prefer fueling up in the US ($0.951 a liter). Since it took over 300 liters (80 gallons) to fill up the inside attendant thought that I was filling a semi.

It was now past 6:00 and looking down the street we saw a Kings Chinese Buffet. In the front was a sign saying that Thursdays were $9.99 for seniors. Remember all that walking we did today wearing down the calories from the last two days of eating out. We didn’t need the Fortune Cookies to tell us that there is much more walking in our futures. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
