Soccer Game and We’re Ready.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We both managed to sleep in this morning until just before 8:00 but we didn’t waste too much time after breakfast. Yes we did take the time to do our morning reading but after that it was all business. We started by packing an assortment of clothes that we wanted to bring with us for the next couple of weeks. When that was completed I immediately started loading the truck using one of the grocery carts that are stored near the laundry room of the building. When that was loaded I came back to load up our Weber Q to take with us since there is no other way to grill whether at home or on the road.

As we were leaving the building to go to the trailer we ran into Lynn the building manager and were surprised when she informed us that she was retiring. Her last day on the job will be the 25th and then she’ll be moving out to McGregor to be closer to her kids. We probably talked for a good half hour before parting with well wishes and encouragement for her. She ran a tight ship here but that is what kept this building in a good state of repair. Here’s hoping the next manager will keep things in line as well.

Both Teams together for a pregame picture.
After I brought in the clothes and other food stocks Kathy had the job of putting them all away and activating the refrigerator. I had to finish putting all the tools and hardware away in the proper compartments. Kathy managed to have her job completed while it took at least another hour before I had everything stowed.

By the time we got back to the apartment we were both soaked with sweat and needed afternoon showers. With most of the food already at the trailer we used a coupon to go out for supper at Swiss Chalet where we both enjoyed a wonderful chicken dinner.

With more time to spare I had to unfreeze Kathy’s laptop and set it to scan before we headed out the door. We were headed to the Ford Test track to see our grandson Matthew’s team play against the Windsor Fire and Rescue soccer team. These exhibition type games are allowing these kids to play against a much higher caliber of teams that they would otherwise never get a chance to play. The kids surprised the Fire Fighters at just how good they actually were. It was a great evening of fun for all.

Kathy and I stopped at the trailer on our way home to verify the refrigerator was working properly and to leave a few more things in the trailer. It was nearly 11:00 by the time we got home. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

How Much?

DEAR ABBY: My co-workers would like your opinion on the following question: Is it appropriate to ask about the salary during a job interview? What do you think?

DEAR ALL: Of course the subject of salary should be discussed during a job interview. Usually when an interview is nearing its end, the interviewer will ask, "Do you have any questions?" If the topics of salary and benefits haven't come up before then, it's perfectly acceptable to inquire about them.
