Prepping and Packing.

Our Location today is Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.

In last night’s post I mentioned how Kathy and I went out for supper at Crabby Joe’s just to get out of the trailer. Little did we think that having a healthy balanced meal would cause us any adverse effects. Around 2:00 in the morning both Kathy and I were laying in bed wide awake not wanting to disturb the other because we thought the other was asleep. By 3:00 both of us were getting sore laying there and decided to get up. It was nearly 4:30 when Kathy fell back to sleep and 5:30 for me. The cause was the diet pops we had were not caffeine free. We both slept until after 9:00 this morning.

After breakfast we did the dishes before Kathy checked what was happening online. I started sorting the laundry so that we could go into Huntsville to the laundromat. By the time I had everything loaded in the truck and did a few other things in preparation for our chore Kathy had started cooking us an early second breakfast for lunch.

On the way to the laundromat we stopped at the Home Hardware Store in Huntsville to look around. That is how we find many things that end up being given as Christmas gifts and since there is only 161 days left to do our shopping we didn’t want to pass it up.

The first laundromat we stopped at required the use of a card that you add money to from your bank account. That is the same as we have at home but their prices were ridiculously high so we said we’d be back and left.

We’d seen a coin laundromat the other day while driving through town. It was located in the basement of a building built into the side of a hill. They were more reasonably priced than the other place but it was still more than what we normally pay. Because it was so busy the best I could get was the use of two machines at a time.

It was now past 4:00 by the time we got finished and we knew that we’d be busy when we got back to the trailer so we decided to eat supper out again. Remember I said the laundromat was in the basement of a building. Walking uphill and around to the front was the Westside Fish and Chip Family Restaurant. We ordered the Halibut fish with Sweet potato fries and decaffeinated drinks. The meal was wonderful but the ambience of this family (1979) establishment was eclectic. If you want to see a collection of Tea Pots there are hundreds of them in shapes and sizes that I had never imagined. Don’t forget to try their Mudslide Pie it will melt in your mouth.

Back at the trailer I unloaded the truck and Kathy put the clothes away and swept up the inside of the trailer. I went outside to mount the bicycles on the rear of the trailer, remove and pack away the storage skirt, pack the basement, put away the Weber Q and prepped the truck for towing. When I came inside Kathy was on the phone with our daughter-in-law Jen who had called thinking we were at home.
Traffic was heavy on the way home.
Tomorrow we’re hoping to be on the road by mid-morning. We planning on avoiding the main highways to our next destination for the weekend. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
