Our Location today is Rock Glen Resort Arkona, Ontario,
Canada.
In last night’s blog I wrote about visiting with George and Suzie Yates until it started getting
dark and the mosquitos started biting. As George suggested in his comment the
mosquitos must have followed us because they haven’t had any problems with them
here but Kathy and I were getting eaten alive by them in Huntsville and
Algonquin Park.

After our 255 mile drive yesterday and the outdoor
socializing in the warm sunlight we had no problem at all sleeping last night. As
a fact we both slept in. Kathy even slept an hour longer than I did which
allowed me to get caught up on my blog reading before she got up. What we also
woke up to was 55 F temperature with cloudy skies that soon started to rain on
and off for the rest of the day.
Not wanting to interfere too much with George and Suzie’s
routine we waited until nearly 1:00 to go over and invite them over to our
trailer. We sat outside under the awning so we could talk freely and still stay
dry. Before George could comment I pointed out that the cold temperatures and
rain had followed us as well and he simply agreed.
Today however was not just a socializing day but a day that Kathy
and I were picking their brains about technical things they had that we were
working towards. We talked about the amount of solar power they had and how
much they used it. We talked more on cell phones and Google plus. We talked of
banking and the best method of paying for things anytime whether they are
travelling or just sitting still. We talked of dry camping in Walmart, Flying J,
the desert BLM and LTVA areas.
The rain finally eased and we all went for a walk with
George and Suzie acting as tour guides showing us all the amenities around the
park. We continued the walk around the resort and George and I actually helped
a four year old fisherperson get unhooked from her own hook that had caught the
back of her T-shirt.
Back at the trailer still picking their brains we could hear
something knocking on a board. When I got up to investigate I saw a Woodpecker hammering
away on the boards under the eaves of the cabin behind us. After more talking George
noted it was time for them to go home to cook supper.

I grilled Hungarian Hulka and green peppers on the Weber
while Kathy made a nice salad with homemade dressing and heated Peaches and
Cream corn for a side. With the Hulka on bread as open faced sandwiches it was
more than enough for us to eat with leftovers for tomorrow. As we were eating Kathy
noted that the cold and rain had basically followed us on this trip and had
rained solid five of the eleven days we’ve been on this trip.
At 8:00 we joined George and Suzie
and most of the resort in the entertainment hall. The park was being
entertained by an Elvis Impersonator. He played a number of Elvis's biggest hits getting cheers and applause from the mixed audience. He encourage anyone wanting to dance to feel more than welcome and many did. He then did a few Conway Twitty songs that attracted a number of line dancers. He finished off the night again as Elvis and posed with a number of people for pictures.
Tomorrow we’ll be taking our time at saying our good byes
and heading for home. Guess what the forecast is for a sunny warmer day which
will be perfect for watching a soccer game in. Thanks for following along and
feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
