After being critical about starting the Blog so often lately with my Sleep Routine Issues, I can only say that it appears to be improving.
I tried sleeping in this morning, but when Kathy was getting out of bed at 8:00 this morning, I knew it was time to get going. Before I could get our morning snack ready on the table, Kathy was already dressed and making the bed.
Having our Coffees at the Computers, to me is a way of timing myself, indicating when it is time to move on to something else. By 10:00 I was taking what I refer to as my morning shower. If I shower at night, it does not relax me like Kathy but invigorates me. I learned that years ago when I would be sent for specialized training. I'd toss and turn most of the night and be nodding through class the next day. It was the Instructor that suggested the switch. It worked perfectly and I walked out with the highest marks in the class.
Afterwards, a few more minutes were spent checking "The Weather Network". It appears that our return to Summer Temperatures will soon be coming to an end next week.
Outside by 12:30, Kathy commented how the breeze was cool in the shadows of the building, but that she felt like she was being cooked once she was in the direct Sunlight. Opening the Car doors felt like standing in front of a furnace. We resisted turning on the AC and simply drove with the windows open against the Heat.
Our first stop was Wendy's for lunch. As far as we are concerned, they give you the best value for your money among all the fast-food chains. We have had strangers tell us, they can't afford to go anywhere else.
Two Weeks ago, we got the call telling us the date, time and place for Kathy's MRI. This week we received a Computerized Reminder but giving us a different time. When I called back to clarify the time, I was told their Computer was giving the incorrect time to everyone. Just come in for the scheduled time.
With the temperature reaching 86 F (30 C) but feeling like 93 F (34 C), I dropped Kathy at tthe front door of Hotel Dieu Hospital, before parking the Car. Of course, I ended up parked at the far end of their furthest parking lot. We got Kathy registered in Diagnostic Imaging with time to spare, so the waiting game began. With Kathy being Modertely Claustropobic, she was prescribed a mild sedative to keep her calm. While sitting there we kept hearing calls for the Specialized Trauma Crew to the Emergency Room STAT. Everyone was starting to feel the effects of the unpadded seats we were all sitting on.
Two Hours later Kathy was finally called in. We found out the delay had been caused by Accident Victims, that took priority. I was seated in an adjoining room while Kathy had the MRI. Even though she had taken the sedative, it did not help with the amusement park movements the technician was causing the table to make. When the door finally opened, Kathy was being pushed out in a Wheelchair, white as a ghost and feeling like she was about to lose her lunch. I helped her dress, then brought her to a chair closest to the entrance, while I retrieved the Car.
Still feeling sick to her stomach, Kathy suggested just eating supper out. I think that she had a reaction to the Sedative. We stopped at Mary Browns for supper, that seemed to settle Kathy's stomach.
The Balcony Door and Bedroom Window did nothing to cool down the Apartment, so after turning on the Air Conditioner, we turned on "Forensic Files". Within minutes Kathy was asleep sitting upright in her chair. Each time she would wake, I suggested she go to Bed, but she kept falling back to sleep in her chair. Finally, I shut the Television and guided Kathy to Bed. After helping her change, I made certain that she was tucked in for the night. This is the first time that Kathy has reacted to this kind of Medication like this. I'm hoping to be in Bed soon.
