White, Green, Sad Notices, Talking To My Aunt, Pedicure and Happy New Year.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

For the second night in a row I slept unassisted and woke up feeling refreshed.

Dark enough the Street Lights were on at 8:30.

When I opened the Balcony Blinds this morning even though the ground was White the Heavy Clouds made it appear like it was time to go to bed.

I had the chance to accomplish a lot of my morning reading before Kathy got up. While reading the digital version of the Windsor Star I saw the Ontario Government again was advertising for people not to gather as a way of keeping us safe from the Virus. It made me think of the Hundred People Plus from our community that are no longer with us had thought that way before they became infected.

I then checked the Obituaries the same as I do every morning. Having worked in an Industry where a lot of Carcinogens I often see the names of many coworkers. This morning I noticed the names of a Man and Woman with the same last name. When I investigated further I learned that She died of Coronavirus on December 22nd at Metropolitan Hospital. The husband died of Coronavirus on December 24th at Hotel Dieu Hospital. They had been married for Fifty-Three Years. That was sobering. Imagine how their family is handling the Holidays now.

For those of you who think this is all a Joke or Fake News don’t fool yourselves it’s real. Hospitals all over the world are being overwhelmed and it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Around 11:00 my Aunt Anna called just to talk. The Nursing Home she’s in still allows the residents on the Main Floor to have their meals in the dining room by shifts. The rest of the time they now have to spend in their rooms because the Second Floor has Five Residents who tested Positive. She’s looking forward to the Vaccine.

Taken Two Hours after the first picture
the Rain turned things Green again.

Having looked outside less then Two Hours earlier the landscape had changed from White to mostly Green.

We kept lunch lite by having Italian Wedding Soup and the Leftover Cherry Pie that Kathy topped with Cool Whip.

Kathy went back to her Computer while I gathered the tools that I only use on her Feet. You might recall that Mary from Healthy Heals who normally takes care of Kathy’s feet had to cancel her appointment due to our area going into Lock-Down. Years ago she showed me what she did so that I could keep Kathy’s feet healthy while we travelled. Going to a Pedicure Business was not advisable because the Sterility of their tools is not regulated.

After Kathy soaked her feet in the Lavender Epson Salts Bath it took over an Hour to get everything cleaned up. The only way to trim one of her Toenails is using a Pencil Grinder because of the way it grows. That means wearing a Dust Mask and Magnifying Goggles. I then clean the dead skin on her heals and massage in Skin Cream to help Blood Circulation. Kathy said it felt wonderful.

Using my own tools I even took the time to do my own feet. I just didn’t get the full treatment like Kathy did.

Kathy gave me an extra Egg.

For supper we again cleaned our Fridge. We had Bacon and Eggs served on Toasted Hamburger Buns with Ginger Snap Cookies and Yogurt Cups for dessert.

We watched the 6 o’clock Local News. There were more Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in our area today. There appears to be a delay in the shipment of the Vaccines. Our Weather will be continuing to ride a Roller Coaster up and down, green and white, windy and calm.

Even though we are a day ahead Kathy and I would like to wish all our Readers, Followers, Family and Friends a Safe, Healthy, Happy New Year. If you celebrate with anyone and Drink please don’t Drive. Let’s pray that 2021 will be much better then this year.

Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

I stand corrected,” said the man in the orthopedic shoes.

  4. It brings a smile to my face whenever you post about your aunt Anna.

Our hometown newspaper went out of business due to Covid so I now have to go read the obituaries on the webpage of the local funeral homes. It is always sad to see a person you know and read of their passing.

I seldom if ever go out on New Year's much less now. I do not even drink anymore so my mother and I will be staying home and away from others.

  5. You are such a good husband to take the time to care for Kathy's feet. We used a small dremel to do our dogs toenails. I later discovered that many use that on their own nails.

Wishing you both a nice NYE and all the best for a healthy 2021 with continued success in getting a full sleep every night.
