Other then the Mask Liner moving Two Minutes after I went to bed the rest of the night was spent catching up on badly needed sleep.
Looking out the Balcony Door this morning the only tell tale sign of our White Christmas was along the edges of people’s driveways where a ridge remained after it was shovelled there. There were a couple of ridges in our parking lot where the Plow had pushed it.
The Sun remained elusive hiding behind the thick Cloud Cover. Even with the above Freezing Temperature and lite Wind it appeared there would be no further melting today.
For lunch we had the Leftover Recreated Turkey Pasta Salad that Kathy made yesterday along with the Turkey Wings we brought home on Christmas. Kathy also served Sliced Pears for dessert.
When I cleaned off our Vehicles yesterday I wanted to preset the Defrost System so if I needed to it could be started using the Fob from upstairs. Since we haven’t been going too far I’ve not been starting the Truck as a way of saving Fuel. Yesterday the Truck would not start. This afternoon I used the Car to give it that little boost it needed to get going. Leaving it run on by using the Remote Starting System in reverse should have charged it enough to start again this week.
By the time I got back up to the Apartment the temperature had dropped to the Freezing Mark and will go well below that tonight.
For supper Kathy again used up nearly all the Leftovers. We had Mashed Potatoes, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, sliced Carrots, Dressing and Multi Bean Salad. We now have plenty of space in our Fridge.
Our 6 o’clock Local News was again Pre-empted by a special showing how by using a retired Passenger Jet to launch a missile that carries Weather Satellites into space. It cost less then traditional Rockets, saves fuel and it means the Launch is not so weather sensitive. We only watched it for Ten Minutes.
We did watch a Hallmark Christmas Movie for our evening entertainment.
Our 11 o’clock Local News was also Pre-empted by Football. I’m hoping this won’t happen for the rest of the week. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
Krackers
To err is human.
To blame it on someone else shows management potential.
I love the fact that like myself you do not waste food and that Kathy finds ways to reinvent leftovers into delicious meals.
ReplyDeleteI meant to start my car today...thank you for the reminder as I do not want my battery to die and then have to use one of my calls to Triple-A.
I too love watching Hallmark movies it takes my mind off of our current political climate.
Sounds like you two had a very nice Christmas Day with family. Plus, you have been enjoying some great leftovers. The one thing I miss about not having television is Hallmark Movies at this time of the year. Stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteGeez, you'd think they would want to keep people informed - seems they really just want to keep them amused. Why would the news be preempted so often especially in a pandemic?, that is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the next time you go to start your truck it starts for you! I know Ken will do that periodically with the vehicles and atvs. Leftovers are always great! The different things you can do with them!
ReplyDeleteYou folks ate well yesterday! We are getting really frustrated trying to find reliable local news. It is either preempted by foodball or all about COVID. The only way we know there is anything else happening in the community, and there are IMPORTANT things happening, is from Facebook news groups. And honestly, I hate Facebook,,,,but....
ReplyDeleteLots of TV pre-emtivity going on around the holidays. Will be over soon and back to Covid news again 😞
