Mask Malfunction, Filling Meal and News Pre-Empted Again.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

After having a wonderful visit and Christmas Celebration with Family we felt at Peace when we arrived home. Kathy was in bed by 10:30 and I was not far behind. Wanting to be certain that I would get another good night’s sleep I took a couple of Melatonin Tablets while I was still writing the Blog. Knowing that it didn’t work very fast I Planned it that way. Notice that word that I have to stop using. I shouldn’t have used it last night.

Kathy was asleep as I sat on the bed put my CPAP Mask on and lay down. It was at that very moment that the Velcro Fastening on the Headgear ripped off. There I was with the air from the CPAP forcing the Mask off my face. With our spare CPAP Supplies somewhere in the storage room and not wanting to wake Kathy I knotted the strap to make it work.

It actually got colder.

Even though the strap was now holding the Mask on I could not get it tight enough to make a perfect seal. Every time I would fall asleep the pressure building in the Mask would belch out waking me up because it generally blew right into my Eyes.

What Sun?

After Kathy joined me for breakfast she said she felt tired. I only felt like I had been run through a cheese grater. Thank goodness for Coffee. I then set up my new replacement CPAP Mask.

When we decided to have our late lunch Kathy served the Chicken Breasts she cooked the other day along with the Leftover Spinach Salad from yesterday’s Christmas celebration. That alone had us feeling quite satisfied. Now the Leftovers that Karen also shared with us from yesterday can be tomorrow’s meal.

Yesterday’s Flurries finally stopped around 2:00 in the morning but the High Winds did not stop until around 2:00 this afternoon.

We intended to watch the 6 o’clock Local News and it was listed on the Guide but instead it was pre-empted by a Comedy. We watched the Detroit FOX News so we could get a look at their Weather Forecast. Since we are so close their Forecast is fairly accurate for us.

Neither of us were hungry because of lunch so we each had a couple of Ginger Snap Cookies for our supper.

We later watched a Hallmark Christmas Movie that had a twist to it that I could relate to having been in the same position the male Character was in.

We then intended to watch the 11 o’clock Local News. They were replaying the same Comedy as earlier. I guess we can agree with the adage that “No News is Good News”. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Sounds like a pain with the mask. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Nice when meals are so easy with leftovers. Love a good spinach salad!

  3. Oh no! Definitely a poor to no sleep night. I suggest keeping a few repair supplies on hand. Certainly no fun to not sleep at night. I was lucky last night as I got two one hour sessions in and then a good three hour sleep. But I am tired of being tired so I do know what you are going through.

Don't be shy to share the name of some of those movies that are enjoying.

  4. I wore a cpap mask for a year and hated it. As soon as it was paid for I put it away and never used it again. Could not sleep with it . I'll have to try that dinner. Sound easy to make 😀

  5. Sounds like Doug could send you some supplies. What a wretched thing to happen just as you were planning on a night's sleep! I hope tonight is better for you!! (At least you ate well today.Ha.)
Maybe you've fixed it up some way for tonight. I hope so.

  6. I feel guilty that being an insomniac, I am now sleeping wonderfully and getting six or seven hours of nightly slumber rather than my usual three to four hours.

Your food looks delicious, and now I am hungry :-(
