Sleep Reversal, Helping Out, Power Outage and Hallmark Movies.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

That Steaming Hot Bath that I had yesterday didn’t totally fix me up but it surely helped me sleep like a rock last night.

I was awake by 8:00 and when I started my morning routine of opening the Balcony Blinds the first thing that came into view were very fine Flakes heading down to the ground. As soon as I checked The Weather Network I knew the ground was too warm to turn white.

I noticed something else. Kathy’s Throw Blanket that she normally sits on was all bunched up in her chair and the LED Flashlight that is normally on her Bedside Table was next to the chair.

I completed my morning routine but waited for Kathy to wake on her own. As we ate breakfast she told me how she spent part of the night at her Computer and didn’t get to bed until nearly 5:00. A routine we seem to trade back and forth.

For lunch we enjoyed a bowl of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup topped off with Grapes and Rice Crispy Squares for dessert.

We sat back at the Computers finishing our Teas and checking out the forecast then heading out the door.

Those were Wet Flakes melting on the Windshield.

Our first destination was our daughter Karen’s house in Tecumseh. She had put up her Outdoor Christmas Decorations on Friday but couldn’t get the Timers to work. It only took a moment to figure that a forgotten Battery had corroded the Contacts. With the use of a small Screwdriver I had it cleaned and programmed in a matter of minutes.

Of course Kathy couldn’t resist bringing a new Pull Toy to Sanford. Before she could stand back up he gave her a Big Doggy Kiss.

From there we headed back to Windsor and stopped at Dollarama. It’s been a while since we had gotten any groceries and this was our starting point. Besides the few food stocks we also picked up a new Star for the top of our Pencil Tree.

From the picture you can see it was not a long drive over to Zehr’s grocery store. We simply finished getting essential items that will carry us beyond the first of the month. As we were setting our purchases on the Cashier’s Belt the Lights throughout the entire store flickered. Sure enough there had been a split second Power Outage which caused all the Computerized Scanners and Tills to go down. The worst part was the Till we were at would not reboot. We had to reload our Shopping Cart and move to another Till. For the inconvenience the Manager gave us a Ten Percent Discount.

That was enough excitement for the day so we headed back to the Apartment. Kathy put everything that belonged in the Fridge and Freezer while I brought the Shopping Cart back downstairs. When I got back I started cooking a Store Bought Thin Crust Parisian Pizza for supper. While it cooked I finished getting the rest of our groceries put away.

We had supper while watching the 6 o’clock Local News. The main topic was again the Coronavirus.

We then watched a couple more Hallmark Christmas Movies and Kathy actually stayed awake until the second movie ended.

Tomorrow I’m going to be busy. Let you know more then. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. When I read your previous post just now I knew that the super hot bath would help you sleep last night, glad that was the case.

You were lucky that the power outage did not last but a second. I was once stuck at Walmart for a good while after a power outage because the registers failed to boot up after the electricity came back on.

  2. P.S. It was nice that you were given a ten percent discount for the inconvenience. With all our power outages it would not be cost-effective here for the businesses.
