Phone Calls, Tech Mis-Support, 126, Surgery Delay and Local Cases.

Our Location today is at Windsor, Ontario.

I had barely stumbled out of bed at 7:30 this morning when my Cell Phone went off. Do you remember when we were having trouble with our Answering System last week that the Technical Support said they would call back. Don’t they know Retired people like to sleep later? I could barely see straight let alone think straight so the Tech offered to call back. Perfect!

Notice the Clouds we had all day.

Kathy had a Bagel while I had a Muffin for breakfast before we moved over to the Computers. I had hoped to get a short workout in this morning but trying to talk to Tech Support when you’re gasping for air is not the way to get things fixed. I did manage to get all my morning reading completed along with printing out my Q-pass. I even hung our new Wreathe on our Apartment Door.

For lunch we kept it lite by having Chicken Noodle Soup along with a Jelly Filled Donut that we bought yesterday and it still tasted fresh.

We cleaned up the Dishes and Kitchen as soon as we’d eaten and I was just about to sit down when Tech Support called back. Unfortunately this person had a very strong accent and had the Microphone so far from her mouth I had to ask her to repeat what she was saying quite often. When she reset the Account Password and gave me a Three Digit Number. I questioned that saying it was typically Four Digits she repeated the number before saying Good Bye. Not only could I not get through on our House Phone but neither of the Cell Phones would work because the Password was incorrect. I needed to keep my BP down and remove the thoughts of throwing the Phones out the Balcony Door so I went for a shower.

By the time I was cleaned up Kathy changed her mind and decided to come for the ride if for no other reason but to get out of the Apartment. We used a Shopping Cart to haul the Empty Boxes and Bins out to the Car.

With a 3:35 appointment we arrived Fifteen Minutes early at the Canadian Blood Services building. Kathy brought a Mystery to read while I was inside. Since the start of the Coronavirus Restrictions if you are donating blood you need an appointment which means no sudden overcrowding which means you spend less time inside. Also being able to print out a Q-pass at home also speeds up the process. Kathy was surprised when I joined her back in the Car at 3:50 to have my Juice and Snack after having made my 126th Blood Donation. That is another way of minimizing gathering inside. Now more then ever they are in need of Blood Donors.

We stopped at Guardian Storage first to check for Mail and second to put the Empty Christmas Decoration Boxes in our Storage Unit.

Kathy wanted to stop at Walmart to look for some Gold Tinsel for the Angel Tree. I dropped her off at the door before parking the Car. When I joined her inside she was standing with her hands over her face. She had forgotten her Mask in the Car and people were giving her the Stink Eye. Our area has now imposed a Mandatory Mask Bylaw which is punishable by Fines and up to Jail Time as a way of fighting the Coronavirus. I had her stay there while I retrieved it from the Car. We were also surprised to see that Walmart had finally gotten Card Readers that could use Tap. Most other stores in the area have had it for over Six Years. According to the Associate it happened on Halloween Night. Spoooooky!

Back at the Apartment we had barely got in the door when the Phone started ringing again. It was the Hospital calling to inform Kathy her Surgery is being delayed by Forty-Five Minutes tomorrow which would also affect the time of her arrival.

I fried up a couple of Angus Beef Hamburgers for supper that Kathy topped off with Chocolate Pudding Cups for dessert.

On the 6 o’clock Local News they talked about one of the Local Elementary Schools was being shut down entirely until at least the New Year after 30 Students all tested Positive for the Coronavirus. Tonight should be the coldest so far this Fall before we rebound to seasonal temperatures.

Even though I can’t stay with Kathy due to Virus Restrictions I will visit with her around supper time tomorrow. In the mean time I’ll be getting other things taken care of. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
