Opening my eyes at 5:00 this morning I knew that it was safe to get a little bit more sleep. When I opened them again after 8:00 I knew it was time to start the day. That’s when I noticed that Kathy was also getting up at the same time. We only had time to have breakfast and a single cup of morning brew with a quick check of The Weather Network before it was time to head out the door by 10:00.

Taking Riverside Drive across the city we witnessed lots of colour change on lots of the trees while others were already bare of any foliage.

Even though we had spent extra time getting things from the Truck before leaving the parking lot we arrived at our Family Doctor’s Office early. When I called to let them know we had arrived early for Kathy’s 11:00 Flu Shot I was informed her appointment was actually later. We only played on our Cell Phones for Five Minutes when they called Kathy in early while I stayed in the Car. George was very thorough checking if Kathy was having any other issues and happy to hear that her Sinus Issues might be corrected before the end of this month. After the reaction Kathy had to the Shingles Shot he made certain to tell her to call if she had any problem with this vaccine.

We were leaving the office before 11:00. Our next destination was the Cemetery but taking the new Highway cause a delay in getting there when the Exit we needed to take was blocked off by Construction Equipment. With Remembrance Day fast approaching we were on a mission. Two Years ago I mentioned how Kathy’s Father and my late wife’s Grandfather had both served during the War but because they were interred in the Civilian Section of the Cemetery year after year they went unrecognized for their service. Even though we notified the Local Legion across the street of their locations there were no Flags when we arrived today.

Like Two Years ago after locating their Headstones I used our Battery Powered Weed Whacker and Blower to clean the overgrown grass off the stones. We planted the small Canadian Flags at both Kathy’s Father’s Grave as well as that of Arlene’s Grandfather Headstone. Since we were only a few feet away we also cleaned my late Wife’s Marker as well as her Parents and our late Son-in-law.

Dandelions at this time of year.

From there we drove to the other Cemetery where Kathy’s late Husband, his Parents, a Cousin and a Former Doctor were all interred. We managed to finish our duty before an afternoon burial was scheduled to take place.

As we headed back into town we realized it was past noon so we went to the Wendy’s Drive-Thru where we ordered Chicken Wraps, Small Chocolate Frosties and Senior’s Soft Drinks for less then Ten Dollars. Sitting in the parking lot to enjoy our meal it was fun watching others doing the same for their lunches.

We headed over to Guardian Storage where we collected our Mail.

From there we stopped at Motor City Community Credit Union to take care of some banking.

We then headed over to Zehr’s grocery store to pick up some groceries. When we saw signs limiting the purchase of Toilette Paper and other paper products we purchased One of each to avoid any future shortages.

We kind of did things backwards today by then going to Dollarama for a few food stocks. Kathy waited in the Car.

I had looked for something at both stores unsuccessfully so we stopped at Walmart to see if they had any. Times have changed. They didn’t even have it. Noticed the in-store Photo Shop where we’ve gotten our Passport Pictures taken a number of times totally gone. Another victim of the Virus.

Our final stop before heading home was a stop at Shoppers Drug Mart. Since I’ll be doing up our Pill Doucettes on Sunday I needed to pick up some Vitamins. The beauty of doing it on a Thursday is that by using our Optimum Card it gives us a Twenty Percent Seniors Discount.

It was past 4:00 when we got back to the Apartment. That’s when Kathy realized she had overbought One freezer item. For supper we had a Medium Store Bought Thin Crust Hawaiian Pizza.

Kathy wanted to know what was happening with the Election Results so turned on the Television to the US News Channel. We didn’t even watch our Local News tonight and I’ve got a lot of reading to catch up on.

Hopefully all the votes will be counted soon and life can return to normal. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. You guys are brave to get the flu shot. My family has always had very bad luck with those.

  2. We don't do flu shots never have and never will. Even our dr says we don't need them. She offers them to her staff because it's the politically correct thing to do..out of 20 only 3 took it. That's where everyone is different. Certainly a busy day for you two!

  3. I've always had the flu shot and never the flu. Hope that holds true this year with Covid also a worry.

  4. It was very nice of you to clean and place flags on the headstones of your loved ones.

It looks like I need to go to the store to see if they are also putting limits on stuff here now that we are having the second wave of this virus.

My new doctor suggested that I have the "Shingles Shot" but one of my friends said it hurt a lot but apart from that she did not have any other complications. May I ask what adverse effects Kathy had?
