Our Location today is at the Jojoba Hills SKP Resort, Aguanga, California.

Even though yesterday was to us only a moderate travel day, the anxiety of the winding roads that had us wondering if the Truck was going to make it to our next destination took a bit of a toll on the both of us and had us in bed by 9:30 last night. We were so worn out that neither of us woke until 8:00 PST this morning.
Clouds early this morning.
Breakfast was really different because we each had a slice of that Strawberry Rhubarb Pie that we purchased at the Julian Pie Factory yesterday. That was more then enough Calories to start our day.
Our Site for a few days.
The first thing I had to do was research the nearest Ford Dealership to have our Front Brakes inspected after yesterday’s smoking incident. They seemed to perform properly after they cooled but we won’t just ignore them. Better to be Safe then Sorry. Speaking to Natasha we have an Inspection/Repair scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
Lite Lunch on a slow day.
Shortly before 10:00 I made my way over to the Office to pay for our stay and get some change to do the laundry. At a Dollar a load I really want to take advantage of these facilities. Since we are visiting Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort for the first time we were also given a Complimentary Invitation for the Monday Afternoon Ice Cream Social.
Back Home I disconnected the Truck from the Trailer so we could go visiting this afternoon. Inside Kathy was getting excited about our visit and was already making a Garden Salad for our lunch. We have meals that balance one another as a way of not overeating.
Originally we had set the time for around 1:00 but using the Truck to drive up the hill we arrived just after 12:30. When we parked in front of the Alpha Motorhome that I watched on many Blogs I knew we were at the right site.
By the time we walked around there was Merikay and Craig MacKenna from the blog Merikay’s Dream has ten wheels. We have followed their Blog since they decided to sell their house and become Fulltimers. We followed their adventures when they drove up to Alaska as well as exploring many parts of the Lower 48 States.
We talked as if we’d known one another all our lives sharing travel experiences and tips. Merikay showed us their Truckers Road Atlas that we’ll be looking into getting to help keep us out of the Mountain Passes when we are towing our Trailer.
Landscaping done by Volunteers.
Around 3:00 we used the Truck to head up to the Community Center where Merikay and Craig showed us all the amenities the Resort had to offer. It was interesting to see Photos of Jojoba Hills from its development stages to present day. Today there are Hot Tubs, a Swimming Pool, Library, Exercise Room, Sewing Room, Craft Room and a very Large Kitchen that was capable of feeding the masses for those special occasions held here.
The Community Center all decorated for the Holidays.
Residents gathering for the Meeting.
We all enjoyed the Ice Cream Social but left before the Monthly Meeting began. We were given a tour of the Resort that had Views that no one could ever be disappointed with.
One of the many streets in Jojoba Hills Resort.
Then Craig had me stop by a Building towards the rear of the Resort. After opening the first door there was a Woodworking Shop for residents to use with Saws, Drills, Workbenches and Clamps but it only got better. Behind door number Two was a Metal Working Shop. Kathy said if we lived there she would never see me. Torches, Welders, Grinders and Metal Saws. At least Kathy would know where I was at.
Grapefruit Trees
After touring a few more streets we were soon back at their Site and even though they invited us for dinner we had only come for a visit. After a few quick pictures and some Hugs and Handshakes we said our Good Nights and we were on our way.
Craig and Merikay. Love the view from your site.
A big Thank You to Merikay and Craig for a wonderful Visit and Tour. We truly hope our paths will cross again down the road.
Honey-Suckle attracts the Humming Birds
We finally had a Cookie along with a Coffee/Tea for our supper around 7:00. Trying to cut back. Tomorrow we’ll take care of some chores and get the Truck checked out before we hit the road again. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  6. We toured Jojoba Hills a couple of years ago. What a gorgeous place. Nice to get a site if you want to just sit still in a full hookup site but it was not for us. We like being mobile.
