We
weren’t really in any rush this morning when we got up at 7:30 but
we didn’t want to reach our destination too late in the day either.
Once breakfast was finished we took the time to check the Weather,
News
and Emails
before packing away the Computers.
While Kathy got changed I washed the Dishes.
When she came down to dry
them I headed
upstairs to close up our CPAP
Machines.
When
I headed outside to start setting the Truck
up for towing Kathy
was already bringing the Slides
in after
having made certain that everything was secured
and in its proper place. I
finished draining and flushing our Waste
Tanks before hooking
up. That’s all it took for our neighbours to come out
and say their “See
ya down the Roads”.
With Dell being in town getting their Car
serviced Pepper came over with Neo to wish us the best. Old John
came over to point out that he could see something hanging under our
Truck.
I explained they are Cables
that act as Static
Straps. Static
Straps eliminate Car
Sickness, Falling
Asleep behind the
wheel, Excessive
Tiredness after a long
drive and getting Zapped
when you touch the
metal components on your vehicle. I used
to think it was all Bunk
until it was
experienced first hand making me a believer.
After
being delayed by nearly an hour we still managed to be pulling out
for the 11:00 checkout time. Not remembering what was up the road we
decided to grab an early lunch before we actually got on the Highway.
We drove back to the Walmart
parking lot
which was already filled with Semis
and RVs.
Parking along a curb we went next door to Wendy’s.
We each ordered a Dave’s
Single with Cheese
Combo
but instead of Fries
we had Side Salads,
and Small Frosty
as the meal. Then we had
a
Senior’s Soft Drinks
which in most Wendy’s
is Free.
We still managed to be
westbound on I-10
before noon.
Water in the Desert. |
The
sky seemed to filled with Clouds
for most of the day
but we were noticing an increase in the Temperature.
By the end of the day Deming
would only reach 61 F
(16 C)
while Tucson
would make it to 70 F
(21 C).
It felt wonderful. Before leaving New
Mexico we
passed an area that recent Rainfall
had flooded next to the Highway.
Looking further away Snow
could be seen along
the peaks of the Mountain
Range.

After
crossing into Arizona
even though we still had a Half
a Tank we stopped to
top off our Diesel and
to give us a chance to stretch our legs as well as taking care of
other needs.
Before
we knew it we were taking Exit
265 around 4:00
and pulling into the Tucson
Camping World a
few minutes later. Since we were only stopping to pick up a few items
it was hard to find anywhere to park otherwise we could have spent
the night in their Secured
Yard. Luckily we
weren’t in there very long and got what we needed.
We
were soon back on I-10
for Two Miles before
traveling the remaining Twenty-Five
Miles
with Rush
Hour
Traffic leaving Tucson
on Ajo
Road. Our
destination was Snyder
Hill BLM Land.
We stayed there for a night in March 2017 on our way to the Escapade
at the Tucson
Fairgrounds.
It
was still daylight as we found ourselves a nice Back-In
Site
that was very easy to get leveled.
After driving only
229.8
Miles today
we are already feeling a little warmer then we have been since we
left home. For
supper we had Chicken
Vegetable Soup,
along with Fruit
Cake
and a Yogurt
Cup
for dessert.
Kathy
has already found tomorrow night’s BLM
Land and
we should be on the road much earlier. Thank
you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be
Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about
time.

It certainly was a beautiful day. I started out in sweats as I was doing some heavy duty cleaning and running to and from the shed when I realized I was quite warm changed into cooler clothes and opened widows and doors.
ReplyDeleteBTW Welcome back
I don't know how you got your rig in the Tuscon CW.. we were there but stayed at a Casino for a few days. That CW was always crowded, but nice workers for sure. Glad everything is working out for you guys now.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear everything went well. Enjoy your stay.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you are getting some warmer weather!
ReplyDeleteYay! You're back in warmer weather. That Camping World is always packed. It's even hard to find a parking space with just a vehicle!
ReplyDeleteAre you coming to Casa Grande?
ReplyDeleteThings are looking up for you now. Warmer weather, smooth travel and hopefully some fun and nice excursions in Arizona. Are you heading for Quartzite?
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you two were into boondocking that much. I probably would found picked your brains for information. At any rate,it was nice to meet you two. Safe travels! Pepper says hi, and Neo says woof woof.
